Summary of an e-mail I just received from a customer: "Your software's user-unfriendly and complicated and kinda shite, but your support staff are ace!" Um, thanks?

Had a minor epiphany/plot bunny about the fantasy novel I'm poking at. Quick poll: would you read a fantasy novel with a knitting (mage) hero and plot that centers on (magical) knitting? (This should go in my writing journal, technically, but meh, too lazy.)

Before I forget, [livejournal.com profile] webrat_jen: here's that shop I told you about. (See under Nappies and then Luna)

(And I'm still baffled that you liked my handwriting. I barely have a consistent handwriting at all!)

Random idea of the day: Tech Support: The RPG! In which "Kill a customer!" is the answer to everything. :D

Also, I, er, may or may not have lost several hours to an internet black hole filled with WoWslash. Um. I have an OTP and everything. Um squared. I'm going to go to hell after being ripped apart by angry orcs and um.

Um?

Note to self: despite encouragement from [livejournal.com profile] ruby_fruit, if you write WoWslash, [livejournal.com profile] troubleinchina will have you killed.

First things first: GIP! Idea by me, execution by [livejournal.com profile] carelessmemory, who is easy to bully. :D

Conversation in f_w has led me to wanting to put the Firefly characters in Hogwarts. Dear self: No.

*pokes around the internet for a decent online DnD game* Okay, if the GM can't spell, I'm not joining, dammit. Which cuts out ... pretty much all of the games I've just looked at. Crap.

Five minutes and thirty-one seconds until my smoke break. Yes, I'm counting down. In fact, I downloaded and installed a wee countdown thingie for my desktop, so I could monitor exactly how much longer I have to suffer. (Four minutes, thirty-five seconds.)

Meanwhile, I'm amusing myselfwith the help of an Aero bar and a mug of hot coffee. Aero tingles when it melts on your tongue due to the coffee! It feels weird, but nice. (Two minutes thirty-nine seconds.) There has to be a way to use that in a fellatio scene somehow, I know there is. (One minute three seconds.) Hm. Do you think they'd still have Aero bars in five hundred years? (Twenty-nine seconds.)

(Three ... Two ... One ... WOOHOO NICFIX!)

Last night I watched Live 8 and exchanged text messages with Leena re: utter adorableness of Robbie Williams, and how he and Becks need to have sex. I alsy had a bunny, which Leena shamelessly encouraged. Dammit.

They're bringing out a Live 8 DVD SOON, right? Because I missed half of it and then I was barely concious for the second half, and I want to see the Philly concert and the Berlin and Rome and ALL OF THEM!

Also, why did everyone onstage over 40 look so hot? WHY? Damn you, U2. And Geldof. And YES I AM LOOKING AT YOU, THE WHO! *sob*

Hey Edinburgh people, who of you all is going to Pride this Saturday, and do any of you want to meet up pre-Pride and hang out at the march? Anyone? Bueller?

Went for coffee with [livejournal.com profile] yonmei yesterday, after which I followed her home to get fed and alkso shed on by her (adorable!) cats. For the record, cat hair and black velvet trousers don't mix. We also plotted out the Pirates of the Carribean/Dr Who crossover thing, which um. Works frighteningly well. Must download all Captain Jack eps and watch them. For, um. Research, of course. Right.

I also got talked into attempting to cut [livejournal.com profile] yonmei's hair with clippers on Friday. She even promised not to kill me if I mess up and she ends up with hair the same length as mine, heh.

I had a poll to put here but I forgot what I was going to ask. Bugger. It'll come to me.

Self, we are not writing a Dr Who/Pirates of the Carribean crossover just because "it'd be hilarious." No. Shut up.

Just found self idly wondering if there's any Strunk/White slash. Clearly need professional help. Or more coffee.

Tonight on BBC1: The Iceman Murder. What it actually is: a programme about OTZI and the likely causes of his death. What I first thought it was: Robert Drake, PI. Or possibly Detective Robert Drake, NYPD.

I need help. Like, urgently.

Melle: And now, for your random pairing of the day ...
Amy: ...WOW. Could ya proposition Mark a LITTLE more obviously, Leo?

I get a fandom, sooner or later I'm going to cast them in a musical. *headdesk*

Someone tell [livejournal.com profile] ruby_fruit to use her Art Skills for Good, please?

Had a v. brief nap tonight, maybe an hour. Spent lots of time Not Sleeping and talking MushPorn with [livejournal.com profile] ruby_fruit. currently trying to talk brain out of writing stupid Valentine's Day story. Story will suck, as is stupid shmoopbunny and anyway, am unable to use personal pronouns at the moment, which would confuse story.

Melle SMOOSH!

ETA: What Ang's quote pqge says: ""Wouldn't it be great if cows reproduced by budding?"
What I saw: ""Wouldn't it be great if cows reproduced by pudding?"

Sleep deprivation! Making nonsensical quotes even less sensicle since the dawn of time!

Purely physical update: I no longer feel like the Cirque du Soleil is rehearsing in my stomach, so that's good, though I slept from 8PM till midnight and then, again, couldn't get back to sleep tonight. Argh. I'm trying not to stress about stressing, but it's getting annoying as fuck, especially since I'm can't concentrate on anything.

In other news, some time just before I left for work yesterday I managed to delete the DNS addresses for my connection, thus leaving me unable to actually get online. Oops. But at least while I was trying to find the letter with the DNS addies in it, I came across the docs for my computer, so at least now I know which RAM I need and how much I can get and stuff.

I think I'll go buy stuff this weekend. RAM, new HD, and possibly (depending on price and need/want) an extra "slot" of USB ports and a graphics card. Right.

Also, randomly: And people say I'm nuts for wanting to slash Bono and Sir Bob ... )
