Purely physical update: I no longer feel like the Cirque du Soleil is rehearsing in my stomach, so that's good, though I slept from 8PM till midnight and then, again, couldn't get back to sleep tonight. Argh. I'm trying not to stress about stressing, but it's getting annoying as fuck, especially since I'm can't concentrate on anything.

In other news, some time just before I left for work yesterday I managed to delete the DNS addresses for my connection, thus leaving me unable to actually get online. Oops. But at least while I was trying to find the letter with the DNS addies in it, I came across the docs for my computer, so at least now I know which RAM I need and how much I can get and stuff.

I think I'll go buy stuff this weekend. RAM, new HD, and possibly (depending on price and need/want) an extra "slot" of USB ports and a graphics card. Right.

Also, randomly:

Wow, that's quite a picture...

Thanks guys.

(Hey, ever read Bob's autobio from years ago? He trades barbs with Boy George for coming to the Band Aid thing late and waving at the people outside. "Get on with it, you old queen." George: "Shut up, you Irish tart." *giggles*

Isn't it? I wonder if I could get away with making that into a wallpaper for work.

I actually saw that on the Band Aid DVD! Bob Gelfof is possibly the ONLY man who can look sexy despite a massive mullet.

Hey, you! Yes, you! I vaguely remember something about you saying that femgeeks also has email addresses, now! Is that right? Or did my memory trick me?

Also, get well. Being sick is no fun - unless you're the kind of sick that still allows you to read and stuff, but you don't quite feel up to heavy exercise or so. In that case, it's all good because it's a wonderful reason for not doing things you're supposed to do.

Indeed there are! We ven have a spamfilter! E-mail me on god@femgeeks.net if you want me to set one up for you. (Just lemme know the username and pwd you want.)

And thanks. Feeling better now, got a good night's sleep, and actually feeling up to doing stuff today. Yay?

E-mail me on god@femgeeks.net if you want me to set one up for you.

Will do, yo! (OMG I'M A FEMGEEK!!!!!11!!!ONE)

And I'm glad you're feeling better! Yay, indeed. So I guess you can switch back from tea to coffee, now?

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Bwah! You're already a femgeek, you silly girl! :D

I don't drink tea, ever, actually. Mmmm coffee ...

You're already a femgeek, you silly girl!

Well, yes, but soon I'll have the e-mail address to prove it!

I used to drink tea only when I was sick. My mother took it as an indicator of just how sick I was. When I started refusing tea, it was back to school. ::g::

Heee! It might be a few days because I can't seem to get to the femgeeks control panel from work, and my home connection is the fuxx0red, but you'll get it, I promise!

A good place to buy computer bits from is http://www.scan.co.uk. The prices are decent, and from what I've heard, the quality good. I bought memory from http://www.orcalogic.co.uk - they were the cheapest I could find for my (expensive) iBook memory.

Retail places are likely to be overpriced. :o/

Retail places also have salespeople that can make sure I'm actually getting the correct memory. :D But thanks for the links, will check those out.

How long did it take you to get the memory delivered, BTW?

http://www.crucial.com/uk have a 'memory selector' - feed it the information and it'll tell you what kind of RAM you need. Then go somewhere else and buy it. :oD

IIRC, it only took a couple of days. I was really impressed.

Should do, somewhere. I can't give any promises on how useful it will be, though. It claims to be the corporate edition, so won't require activation, but it might be lying.

Hm, best test it out first, then, before I actually wipe the other drive. Are you guys free this weekend?

Actually, no, we have a Buffy marathon planned with [livejournal.com profile] karenbear. :o/ Next, maybe?

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Sure! It'll probably take me till then to get everything I need, anyway. (Tough I need to buy a new router today. Argh!)
