So. Random meme, in which one goes to the Pit and searches the HP section for one's name. I had to use the English/French spelling, as no one every uses the proper one, but anyway.

Total number of stories found: 31.
Stories in which I am related to Dumbledore: 2
Stories in which I am related to Sirius: 4
Stories in which I am "Draco's little sister": 1
Stories in which I am "Harry's little sister": 1
Stories in which I am called, and I am totally not making this up, my hand to god, "Sophie Black DraySev Draco": 1

I suppose I ought to be grateful I don't have a more common first name. (Perhaps I should look for my middle name?)

Anyone up for an MST?

Summer Holidays, contains George/Lee. Um. I just skimmed it, but blah. If you can't even spell a haracter's last name right, why are you writing fanfic?

Ginny/Oliver? WTF, man?

Hrm. Draco/George. Interesting premise, shabby execution.

I cannot bring myself to read it, but there's a HP/SW crossover. Oi.

And what is with all the George/Hermione and Fred/Hermione? Honestly, people!

Dear ff.net writers: Please don't ever again use the expression "going steady" in a summary. Because it will only result in hysterical laughter and mocking on AIM.

Sodding hell, more Ginny/Oliver?

Nocturnal Affair -- Lee/Filch. Um. Sadly? I'm not half as disturbed as I was by the Lee/Percy.

Hey Pretty/Terrible Thought -- Fred wants George. George is confused. George wants Fred, but he's scared it will ruin their friendship.[...] Okay, I'm sorry, but when your BROTHER starts WANTING you, ruining of friendships is NOT the first thing you worry about, OKAY?

Stephanie and George -- This is a fic about George going on an exchange program to a Muggle Skool and what happens there!! OBVIOUSLY not a Mary Sue, because this IDIOT OBVIOUSLY never WENT to "skool".

Love of Brothers -- Fred/George/Percy. Not sure if I should be horrified or enthralled.

Definitions of Sanity -- Fred/Lee/George. PWP. Not half bad, I must say.

Children at Play -- Annoying formatting, story's not bad.

And then there were all sorts of Big Ball Of Wrong stories, with Harry/Fred, Harry/George, Snape/Ginny, Ginny/Oliver, Snape/Fred/George, etc.

Oh, and dear ff.net writers: Peeps are candy, and they don't read fanfic. We're people. Ta.

And then there's this:
Toast -- Oasis, Noel/Andy. TOAST! Ahahahahahahaha!

Melle: I. They. WTF? Fred/George/PERCY?
Fleur: WHAT?
Melle: http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=249195
Fleur: "Fred and George get caught doing something and Percy gets evolved." That is funny.
Melle: EVOLVED! I hadn't even NOTICED that!
Melle: PERCY is a POKEMON!
Fleur: What does he evolve into?
Melle: Crouch? =D
Fleur: Ahahahaha! That's funny because it's true.
Melle: It IS, man! And it's SO going into LJ!

Oh, look, I'm critiquing the latest story on metslash. Sigh. Glutton for punishment, that's me.

(Ruth, I'll be doing this in private, but just a little heads-up in case you get whining emails about it.)

I'm reading random HP slash again. And there's so many stories with a good idea behing them (this one, for example) that could be really good if it weren't for the dreadfully formal language and if they'd been paced a lot better. Sigh.

This icon has never been quite so appropriate.

I don't even want to know. No. No is no is no!" Nate: *waves story* "Look, it's one you haven't read yet, and it's gramatically correct and there don't seem to be any glaring mischaracterisations." Melle: "... I hate you both." Coop: "That's what you said five years ago."

Um, Ara? Any chance you could dub me some of your S:AaB tapes?

(Edit: Summary: Shane has to face her biggest challenge ever... leaving the Corps and being a mum Say what? Oh, for fuck's sake, people, not her! Don't mess with my Shane, goddammit!)

Okay, I'm done now. I think I can get through the day without taking an AK-41 to the LotR_RPS list. Maybe.

In other news, anyone want to MST this gem with me?

Speaking of sporkage.

Or go here for some "highlights" with comments.

It's really weird when you see a story come through on a list one day and you read a bit and decide that no, sorry, this is not what you like, and the dialogue's all off and weird and ick, and then a few weeks later some of your favourite artists recc it warmly.

Yeah, i'm talking about Grown. Georgina and Dacey both liked it, but I went back and read it and even though I am much with the JuNi-love, especially right now, I still can't say I like it. And I can't pinpoint the problem, either. (Althought the "dollface" thig is certainly part of it, for some reason.)

There is GnR slash in my inbox. Normally, this would make me happy, but um. The title? Duff 'n Stevie. Yeah, it's porbably just a play off the band name, but *cringe*. Anyone actually read it? Is it good?

I had no idea I was still this bitter about the descend oof Spike/Xander fandom in this large pit of sucktitude. (Most of it, anyway.) I can hardly even remember the good times anymore. Sigh.

Also, I'm an elitist bitch. You! With the bad imitation accent and sappy stories! Stay the hell away form my punk-fandom!
