There is GnR slash in my inbox. Normally, this would make me happy, but um. The title? Duff 'n Stevie. Yeah, it's porbably just a play off the band name, but *cringe*. Anyone actually read it? Is it good?

I've skimmed, noting that there is no retarded or nasty porn dialog to mess it up. Actually, it doesn't look too bad. Descriptive. I think I'll read it here and I can let you know...

Thanks, yo. I've become extremely cautious in my reading lately. A bad story can ruin a pairing or even a fandom for me for at elast a while. >_<

Siiiiigh. When did I become a bitter fan hag anyway?

Re:

Yeah, so I read it. It wasn't bad. I've definitely seen worse. As for characterization, there really wasn't any, so it probably won't ruin your perception of Duff or Steven. The sex was way too drawn out, it lasted to long to be realistic, it was disjunct and even a little confusing (as in hard to picture). But it wasn't terrible. I think you could read it and when it gets to be too much, give up on it. It wasn't a complete waste of time.

Damn, was that mean?

And I know why you're a fan hag. NSync fiction either rocks or sucks. The suck out ways the rest. NSync writers have ruined pairings for me forever. Reh.

Eh. I was like this way before I got into puppy fandom. I only read things that're recced on my friends page in this fandom, see, so even if I don't like a story I read, it'll at least be ... decent. Spell-checked, grammar-checked, correct punctuation.

No, it was mostly Metallica, and lately U2 and the Sex Pistols that made me this weary. (There's a lot of great stories in U2 fandom. There's also some crap, and a bunch of stuff that could be great but suffers from Angel!Larry characterisation and/or dialogue oddness. Or people trying to write "Irish" and going horribly wrong.)

Re:

Is that on ff.net? I'm too damn lazy to go over there to read anything. Metallica, I've seen some bad stuff there. Won't even go there anymore unless it's Joanne (or you and Nat... didn't you guys used to write it?). I haven't seen anything terrible in U2, but then I haven't been looking :)

Re:

Nat's written one Metallica story, and I was in the fandom and am currently back from hiatus and writing in it again. Yay.

That rocks. You will be posting to RS-X/musician slash, right? I could go for some good Met slash for a change. I'm feeling the Krik love lately.

*wince*

See, the thing is, this series (seven stories, entitled Sin) is mostly an excercise in squick for me, to see if I can write non-fluffy, and um. It's squicky. And I don't like anyone in this universe. At all. Especially Kirk.

So I don't know if you wanna count on me for the Kirklove, per se. :/

Aaaah, I see. Well, okay then. I'll be weary of it.

I'm fascinated by this concept

I really am. It sounds intriguing. I've always found the "seven deadly sins" concept interesting when used in movies and fiction (though I'm not sure I could watch Seven again - maybe one day).

I've decided that I'm probably encouraging people to write squicky things because I can't (believe me, I have tried), and I like to read them when I'm in the mood.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
