I'm currently in a relationship with someone who is graduating in three weeks and moving to Boston to attend grad school. In all likelihood, the relationship will end then, but I don't really think the relationship is a waste of time because it really is a good experience for me. So no. Things that don't last forever are not wastes of time. They're learning experiences, growing experiences, and things that make us happy at the time. :)

I find it hard to remember that when a former friend seems to think that because a friendship ended (more or less badly), that means said friendship (including the good times) was a waste of time. :/
