Okay, so here's the thing.

Have there ever been any fanfic writers who got into legal trouble (or any trouble other than a flame from some parent and a reader who got his internet privildges provoked? Cause i'm getting a tad irritated about all the insistance that minors stay far, far away from the evil slash. One: you did your legal duty when you warned us. No one's likely to be suing you over one lost minor reading your page. Relax a little. Two: unless every last one of your stories is NC-17, demanding we leave your entire site is a bit over the freakin' top. And I swear, no matter how few and far between the ones who actually believe that smut is baaaaad for minors are, they are going to send me into a fucking snit one of these days. Grar!

(Note, btw, how I still count myself among 'us minors', even though according to Belgian law, I've never been of illegal age to read smut. Whoo. Novel concept, huh, slashers from countries outside the US? Fuckers.)

There is a reason none of my list require age statements. I did that quite deliberately, as a way to flip the whole fucking (smut-writing) world the two-fingered salute. It went by unnoticed (duh), but I'm still glad I made it.

No, as far as I know, no one has ever gotten into any major trouble.

Yeah, some of the warning/age statement demands/etc, do go too far. I'd rather people just define for themselves whether they are old enough -- that's why my entrance graphic simply says "adult content ahead, you know how old you are." Because people generally do.

Hey, it's not like a warning would have stopped me!

Exactly. Unless you're gonna do things like move an archive all the time, and pwd it, giving out the pwd only to people who've proven to be 18, you're not gonna keep minors out. (And even then.)(And yes, i've seen people do this kind of stuff.)
