Current approximate word count: 3,500

That's approximately thirty-one words a day. I suck mightily! And I bet all you hugely prolific writers are rolling your eyes and going "She's making such a fuss about that?" but I am the slowest writer in the history of mankind, and 3,500 words is a big deal for me, and it's all angst and darkness, which I just cannot write, and excuse me while I tear my hair out, yes?

OTOH, my largest decent (as in, I can still stand to look at it, it has been beta'ed and it's still up in html on my site) fanfic story was 4,467 words, so it's not too bad. For me, at least.

I'm thinking maybe I should just set myself a reallyreallyreally modest goal, and then work up from there. Instead of Mr King's proposed two thousand words a day (ha! yeah, that'll happen any time soon), or the five hundred I've been claiming to try and write every day, let's try fifty. Even I can write fifty bloody words a day, goddfreakingdammit!
