So. I actually had a very good weekend. The parents didn't bitch at me, and I saw This is Spinal Tap, and Metallica: Behind the Music, and my brother mocked Kirk's girly voice. And I bought stuff:
  1. Black tank top -- which is very nice and will look very good with my skirt.
  2. U2 poster -- from the cover of All that you can't leave behind, which is on my board as we speak, being rather distracting.
  3. Load (Metallica) -- because they said so. And because the pictures were pretty. And because I wanted Hero of the day. I suck so very much.
  4. Buttons -- one Metallica, one Sid Vicious, one Limp Bizkit. On my jacket as we speak. Type. Whatever.
I've decided that the issues that caused this long antisocial and sad period are going to be ignored. So na. *locks issues in a box* Shut up. I know I'l being avoidant and nonconfrontational. I like it that way.

Steve has commented. At last. I have made him react. I rule. Bwah. Feel ... powerful. Especially since Tri now has a SidMuse thanks to me.
Right, self, here's the deal. You have to take the 17:28 train if you want to be home in time to go to the library, so you're gonna have to leave at 17:15. It's now 14:15, so you have three hours to do the finances, check them, and give them to TBL, and collect today's info for the newsletters. If you do all that, we'll go to the movies tonight, and you can have fast food.

Which movie?

Er, Hannibal? Or something? It's not like there's all that many movies we've not seen yet ...

I know. Innit grand?

I'm all Artemis and Athena. The fact that I'm independent may put men off. I need to integrate my masculine and feminine sides, or I'll come off as self righteous and unaffectionate.

Jesus Motherfucking Christ. Um, this is code for "If you don't act pretty and acquiescent, honey, the boys won't want to fuck you." And I don't have a "masculine side". I only have my self.

Helen is a godess ...
From the Godess test [which I'm not going to link to because it's evil]:

You scored 66.7% Athena.

If you are ruled by Athena, you are bright-eyed, shrewd, resourceful and inventive. With friends, you are the wise counselor -- always ready with an empowering message.
Me: Okay, so far so good. I actually do feel connected to Athena, or Minerva, as she's called in Roman mythology. Sounds good. Wise woman, y'know, highly respected and all, and she could also kick some serious ass. Yeah. Athena. Bring it on, baby.
You are believe strongly that women can accomplish anything men can.
Damn right I do!
No wonder you put so much time into your career.
Eh? Me? Career? Work is fun and all that, but I have no interest in 'status' or whatever. I prefer non-leadership type jobs. Eesh.
Athena women tend to be ruled by their head, not by their heart. You carefully guard your intimate side, protecting your emotions and vulnerability.
Absolutely correct, as many who know me will testify.
If you want to awaken your unexpressed womanliness, you'll have to use the same passion you apply to your intellectual achievements. It's important that you work to integrate your strong masculine side with your feminine side -- bringing together your strength with your vulnerability, your creativity with caring, your intelligence with imagination. Otherwise, you risk coming off as unaffectionate and self-righteous.
Allow me to just say: "Fucking fuck!" That's all I'm gonna say about it. Fuckers.

Semi-nice person I met on aforementioned discussion has kick-ass Metpiks site. Waaaai!

  1. Don't ask me why, but I love this picture.
  2. Any excuse will do to promote this picture
  3. Glasses and a puppy. Evil bastard.
  4. Um?
  5. Aaaand I just find this rather amusing.
  6. Ack! Not again! Men holding kids = goo-ey Melle. Bastards.
  7. No comment.
  8. Waugh! It's streetwise!Jason. And isn't that a bunny from hell?
  9. Mu-wha?
  10. Yaay! It's the FOOTBALL pic! Moving on towards the others ...
    1. My current favourite picture. Jason has his arms around Kirk, all flat on his chest and everything, and James is reaching all the way across Lars' and Kirk's shoulders to put his hand on Jason's. Awww. Except Lars looks really very tired.
    2. Judging by the caption, this is from Q magazine, which rawketh.
    3. Oooh, likkit Kirk getting all possessive!
    4. Whu? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone from The Other List make this? Cause IIRC, Marianne Faithful was originally in the middle here. Also, the caption is "Aww, they love each other." And this person was shocked at seeing metslash? Eeesh. Yes, Ruth, I bet we could bring her to the slash side. Waaai!
At this point, our journaller is rudely interrupted by the closing of the cybercafe. She is not pleased.
