Augh. So my internet connection at home was done yesterday, got briefly fixed for a bit, then went down again. I'm connecting through my mobile (as a modem) now, which works, but is slow, so no WoWing for me until this gets fixed, which may be a few days. Boo, says I!

Hm, AFAICT, they don't forbid it, although they do have a specific Plus option for laptops, in which they seem to charge for a data card (I'm connecting through the Nokia Suite) and a higher transfer limit.

(And I just got your second comment, so never mind. :D Yeah, it'll only be for a few days, and I doubt they'll notice that anyway.)

I use Plus on my phone - which I also use as a modem over bluetooth. The main thing with Plus is that all of those 'you can't' things go away, apart from VoIP. Pro ups the data limit to 10GB and takes away the VoIP ban, but cost way too much for me.

The nice thing with my phone is that it's HSDPA 'broadband' 3G. In theory, I should be able to get over 1mbps on this thing. In practice, I get more like 200-500 kbps. Which is still pretty awesome for reading LJ on the bus.

Speaking of which, I need to go and get the bus. You'll probably see me in an hour and a half running into work. :oD

Yeah, without a laptop, and with the handset I have the Plus option wasn't worth it for me. I doubt I'll ever again have to use it as a modem, but it's nice to have a backup connection just in case.
