I don't know WTF I did to my hip, but motherfucking ow! *limps*

In other news, much as I hate the heat, I hate airco more. My voice keeps crapping out on me, and I can cut glass with my nipples at this point, and it's not even eleven yet. Grr.

And don't even get me started on the midgies ...

In other news, I've been thinking about doing something new with my hair. Opinions?

Oooh, I see. :) I rather like Afrikaans, becauseI can understand it, though not speak it, and some of the terms and words are just delightfully descriptive. :D

... Yes? Coffee! Tea is icky. *is kicked out of country for heresy*

Really? I spotted several differences when I was in Ieper. Classified as a dialect?

<butts in>
I think Flemish and Dutch differ in a somewhat similar way as, say, British and American English. Though we do have the same spelling. But we have different accents and we sometimes use different words or expressions (which can sometimes lead to a bit of hilarity). The difference is much less notable when people write (properly) than when they speak, though.
But we do have lots of different dialects and words that get used only regionally even inside of Belgium (as I assume is the case in the UK as well), so I don't know who you were listening to in Ieper. ;-) Unless they're a newsreader or something, people don't necessarily tend to speak what we would call "general" Dutch, i.e. official, proper Dutch. </butts out>

I wasn't listening to anybody. *grins* I don't actually know Dutch, I've just seen it written down a lot, and I thought I saw differences.

But now you tell me they have the same spelling, and I am unmasked as a total know-nothing. *woes around sadly* Possibly I was hallucinating?

Maybe some people are just terrible at spelling? ;-) (Or it was old Dutch or something...)
