I had to go pick up some stuff from Boots (peroxide and shower gel, mostly) and decided I'd see if the pharmacist could recommend something for the weird yeast/fungal infection patch thing on my hand, before it got worse. (Right now it just looks like a peal-y callous (sp?) patch, but the first time it spread to the first three fingers of my hand and cracked and bled so badly I was afraid my fingers were going to fall off.) So I go up to the counter, show her the patch, explain that I've had this before (only twice, though--it only shows up in periods of extreme stress and lowered immuninty), and I think they gave me cortizone cream for it? She takes a closer look, and tells me I have ... athlete's foot. On my hand.

Why do I always get the weird ailments, dammit? *facepalm* (Or maybe not.)

And then I got peroxide on it, which hurt like a goddamn bitch, ow. The end.

I was 100 % sure it would be spelled 'calluous', but my dictionary says your spelling is fine and it has never heard of mine. Learned something new again. Grrr.

And I thought you need to wear shoes and socks and stuff to create a climate that keeps athlete's foot alive and prosperous. Yours must be the new & improved edition.

Clearly! The only thing I can think of is that it's my mouse hand, so maybe the sweatiness of that and me not drying off my hands properly is what encourages it? Huh.
