I had to go pick up some stuff from Boots (peroxide and shower gel, mostly) and decided I'd see if the pharmacist could recommend something for the weird yeast/fungal infection patch thing on my hand, before it got worse. (Right now it just looks like a peal-y callous (sp?) patch, but the first time it spread to the first three fingers of my hand and cracked and bled so badly I was afraid my fingers were going to fall off.) So I go up to the counter, show her the patch, explain that I've had this before (only twice, though--it only shows up in periods of extreme stress and lowered immuninty), and I think they gave me cortizone cream for it? She takes a closer look, and tells me I have ... athlete's foot. On my hand.

Why do I always get the weird ailments, dammit? *facepalm* (Or maybe not.)

And then I got peroxide on it, which hurt like a goddamn bitch, ow. The end.

I did actually originally have it on my foot, and I think it transferred to my hand because I kept picking at it. Oddly enough, while the one on my hand keeps coming back intermittently, the one on my foot never has, for some reason.

Not drying my hands properly probably doesn't help, yeah. I have a bad habit of just wiping my hands on my trousers and then letting it air-dry.

Eep. Picking is not good! :\

*nod* That's what I thought you did. That combined with stress and other things, no wonder you get it. I hope you get it to go away.
