I expected you to sound older. Less singsang speaking maybe and I definitely expected a darker voice.

But you can keep the one you have, it sounds nice.

My voice is actually a lot lower than it was before I started smoking. You can imagine what it was like before this. It's annoying when I try to crossdress.

The singsong thing apparently makes me sound Welsh, according to two seperate people who've told me this in the past few days. I'm rather bemused by this.

one day i'll do a phone post, and you'll realise you don't sound welsh at all :P

Tell them that! :D Actually, I've had some really weird guesses about my accent over the years. Scottish (mostly from USAians and Canadians, and this even before I moved here, and please to note that while I've assimilated a number of slang expressions now, I don't actually sound Scottish at all), Welsh, generic Scandinavian, ... I'm always amused by what people will guess, and no one ever guesses correctly. Heh.

And like [livejournal.com profile] carelessmemory below I aim for 'lower' and not for 'bartending in the dark' when I say 'darker'.

What, you don't think I'm goth enough? WOE! *handstapleforehead*

(The bartending in the dark thing continues to amuse the fuck out of me. :D )

Hee. You have the cutest voice. :D I imagined it would be much darker though. Same pronounciation as in Sweden.

And speaking about names.. Where does 'Melle' come from?

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

"Darker"? As in lower?

Melle is derived from Armelle, my now long abandoned old pseud. :)

Yes, exactly! 'Lower' in English, I always forget that. We use 'darker' in Swedish. :)

Ah. I've been curious about that for a long time, but never got around to asking.

Heh. My voice is actually even higher when I'm actually having a conversation--this is my "phone voice", deliberately lowered so I don't sound sixteen anymore. :D

I LOVE your voice, but when I listened I only got the first few seconds of the file for some reason, so I didn't actually get to hear how to pronounce your name!

Aw. :( Have you tried downloading it fully and then playing it from your computer?
