A glimmer of hope? You know, much as I understand tht both sides in the conflict have their doubts about the validity of this, I still want to punch Ian Paisley in the face. Something about that man brings out the worst in me. Grar.

Well, there's the fact that he can't talk, just scream. The fact that he seems to forget there are protestant militias as well. And the whole unnaturalness of NI being completely distinct from Ireland just because the Brits invaded it.

Exactly. I don't blame the Unionists for being sceptical about this latest move from the IRA, but there's a difference between "I'll believe it when I start seeing it," and "Nothing they do or say will make me sit at a table and talk to murderers."

Did you know that Paisley hates other Protestants, too? There was a documentary a few years ago, and he belongs to a tiny, quite fundamentalist Protestant sect, he's a proselytising missionary. O_o;;
