Best way to piss me off while trying to get me to help you: open a phone call by complaining about the 15-minute wait (I was at lunch, bitch, leave a message if you hate being on hold), then respond to my request for your contact details by reiterating your complained (for the fifth fucking time), and then ask if we're actually going to do anything with this complaint or if (as you clearly assume), we'll just file it away somewhere. Look, if you're going to assume the worst, why call at all? And why would you think I'm getting paid to sit here and not actually handle complaints? What goes on in the heads of people like this? Augh.

I'm assuming you've all heard the news about lj tags by now. I'm still kinda poking at them, trying to decide when to use tags and when to use the memory function, but it looks cool.

Mostly, I've been wasting time reading [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily--specifically, the giant Booster/Beetle post from yesterday. The love, people, the love!

I've mostly sort of decided that I can use tags instead of memories where *my* entries are concerned. Which is how i was using memories in the beginning, you know, like bookmarks on lj for the posts i found interesting by others? but then as my own lj grew and i saw people used memories to stow their fics-links and other things, i started using them for my own posts too... well, no more now, cos tags. So fic is under fic, and might be under lotrips or m/m or f/f and such, and then firefox is a tag, tmi is a tag, sex is a tag, all that.

what I find sad is that tags, in other places (consumating.com, del.icio.us, flickr etc...) is also a way to create links between users - on del.icio.us you can look at the stuff boorkmarked in

http://del.icio.us/anatsuno (that would be the equiv. of looking at my entire lj, the front page of it or whatnot) or on http://del.icio.us/anatsuno/kinky (MY personal use of the tag 'kinky') OR on http://del.icio.us/tags/kinky (seeing who else uses the same tag and the compendiumof everything tagged like this).

More useful, imo... But still. Am all full of shiny happy geeky love for the lj tags. :D

*nodnodnod* I'm still keeping the memories for my own entries, but I always used them half for my own entries, half for others's. It'll take a while to iron out the differences, and there's some stuff in the memories that would be better just tagged, but memories, for me, are for when I want to find a specific entry again, and tags are more for other people wanting to browse my LJ by subject or whatnot.

You know where the tags will really make a big impact? Communities.
