Finally, a picture post! Come see my flat:

First, we have a wee, uninteresting picture of the hallway. Not much to see here beyond a bunch of coats, really. Although I felt the need to share this picture of my doorbell:

It's an honest-to-god bell! If you look carefully you can see the wire going from next to the door to the bell itself.

Clockwise from the hall, we first have my bedroom. Note the crap on top of the closets, and on the chairs. Heh.And of course, my bed. Mmmm, bed.

The bathroom, with actual bath, of which I've taken much advantage. Note the stack of magazines and books next to the toilet.

The kitchen part of the kitchen/lounge, and of course the freaky swing doors thingie that hides my oven/hub. I've no clue what whoever designed this was thinking, no.

The lounge part of the kitchen/lounge. Not much interesting here.

And of course the room where I spend most of my time, my study. You may recognise the desk. That was the only piece of furniture my parents brought over. Also, my completely disorganised bookshelves.

Hm? Oh, the left-handed mouse, right. Er, it depends. I write right-handed. I use the house left-handed both because it's more natural for me and because it keeps my RSI at bay. Anything else. it depends. I usually have a clear preference for either hand, so I'm not really ambidextrous, but which hand that is varies. (And there's no clear pattern, either, so things like sports can be a bitch while I try and figure out which hand I should throw with.) I guess you could call be bi-dextrous. ^_^

If the door to your study is where I think it is, it must have quite an odd angle.
It's tinier than my first place, and I already thought that was extremely tiny. But yeah, just moving to a foreign country, not making an abundance of money, it's your own, you can call it home, and after everyone and their moms have bought your book, you might want to look into something slightly bigger.

As for the swinging doors, it still looks like a kitchen, no matter how well you hide the stove. Unless the previous owner was notorious for leaving his stove looking like a mess, with food rotting all over the place, dirty dishes piled up on it (oops, better stop describing my own stove), well, some things are better hidden from sight I must agree.

Yeah, it's a bit of a weird angle, but at least all the other rooms have straight corners, which is more than I can say for my flat in Antwerp. :D

Gods, your bathroom is small! I'd knock my head against the wall each time I get out of the bath. :-)

And I wonder if that's a lavalamp or a giant vibrator on the mantle in your bedroom...

Your living room is cute.

That's a lava lamp, you dirty mind. :P

And yeah, small, but it has a proper bath! :D

Cannot. Stop. Laughing. Why the heck would she keep a vibrator on the mantle?! Way too far away. :p

IT'S A LAVA LAMP DAMMIT! You saw it when you were over at my place in antwerp!

BTW, I'm gonna be over in Belgium over Christmas. Do you two want to meet up?

We did? Sorry, noticing naked people and suspicious toys is [livejournal.com profile] sileas's department; I will kindly defer to her greater knowledge. Nice model, anyhow. ;)

BTW, I'm gonna be over in Belgium over Christmas. Do you two want to meet up?

Of course! When will you be here?

I'll be flying in on the evening of the 21st, and leaving on the 30th, so um. Pick a date? Except, obviously, the 24th or 25th. :D We can meet up in Antwerp again, cause it's central, it's easiest for all of us, I think, and I want to see my city again.

*g* [livejournal.com profile] sileas and I always meet in Antwerp, because, eyah, central! Also, Quick, Pizza Hut, and UGC near the station. So very important. :-)

I have nothing planned so far, so I'll leave it up to [livejournal.com profile] sileas to pick the most convenient date. :D

Note the stack of magazines and books next to the toilet.

And that's exactly why I love it. So totally, yeah, homey. *loves*

Yeah, more colours, maybe, but your furniture is colourful enough, and it tires less quickly than colourful walls. You can always hang stuff on the walls. Like, disperse your colourful books. :-) And at least when something's small you get to call it 'wee' and then everybody's too busy squeeing about that to worry about the actual size. Anyway, less cleaning! Very important.

Though it was definitely a guy who designed that kitchen. o_O I don't cook, no. I'm a decent macho guy. Tjose bruises on my elbows? No, no, they're not from the walls, they're from, er, trying to deal with my car. *nods*

Bwah! "My wee flat." Gotta remember that. :D

And yeah, I'm gonna look into getting some large-ish prints done of photos of my family and stuff, to hand on the walls, especially in the lounge and kitchen (above the heater).

And trust me, give me a year and those books will have taken over my flat completely. Sigh.
