Okay, first of all, a small re-enactment:

Movie: *movies*
Melle: *eats nachos*
Monster Book: Grrrr!
Melle: *somehow manages to spill nachos all over self in perfect slapstick manner*
Rane_ab: *cracks up*

Yeah, I'm good. Er, onward:

First, the bad: I think that people who haven't read the books are going to be left with a lot of unanswered questions, like how the fuck Remus knew how to work the map, and related things. Most of the backstory of the Marauders was never explained, but it was hinted at, which I think could be quite confusing if you don't already know it. And on the other hand, as a book fan, I was confused because of missing/different things. Then again, at least it's equal opportunity confusing.

The quick passage of time in the first part of the movie also left me a bit confused and off-feeling, like there were all these scenes that were sort of loosely connected, but not really, and it just made me feel a bit out of the movie sometimes.

The Eh: I'm witholding

The good: first and foremost, the scene in the Gryffindor boy's room. So. Much. Love. Immediately thought of [livejournal.com profile] schuyler, of course, because LOVE! I'm so much al about Seamus, for some reason. Because he's cute and Irish and swaggery and just such a teenaged boy, but without the obnoxiousness! And also, Ron with the pigtail-ish hat, was that a shoutout at that play he was in?

Speaking of Ron! He was cute and funny and brave and hot and cute and did I mention I love him and want one of my own? "I don't want to tap dance!" And the R/H (and the H/R/H, because WOA!) and Ron being all "They'll have to cut it off," and squeeeeee! And Ron and Hermione near the Shrieking Shack were just too damn cute, and the HUGGING and the HAND-HOLDING and AWWWW!

I loved the music. I need to have the choir bit on mp3, and OMG, the SWING MUSIC! Eeexcellent!

I was really amused at Snape's Mommy Arm at the Whomping Willow. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who'd see the Mommy Arm in that, but hey! I gotta be me!

Also, as I've said in almost every comment I've posted about this movie: Gayest. Note-passing. Ever. Draco is such a pansy! (Draco: "No, she's Pansy, I'm Draco.")

And what you really want to go read is this. TWEEDMAN! Excellent!

If they keep that in, I say we petition it to have Fred doing the running man included. No white boy dance can be without it.
