Okay, first of all, a small re-enactment:

Movie: *movies*
Melle: *eats nachos*
Monster Book: Grrrr!
Melle: *somehow manages to spill nachos all over self in perfect slapstick manner*
Rane_ab: *cracks up*

Yeah, I'm good. Er, onward:

First, the bad: I think that people who haven't read the books are going to be left with a lot of unanswered questions, like how the fuck Remus knew how to work the map, and related things. Most of the backstory of the Marauders was never explained, but it was hinted at, which I think could be quite confusing if you don't already know it. And on the other hand, as a book fan, I was confused because of missing/different things. Then again, at least it's equal opportunity confusing.

The quick passage of time in the first part of the movie also left me a bit confused and off-feeling, like there were all these scenes that were sort of loosely connected, but not really, and it just made me feel a bit out of the movie sometimes.

The Eh: I'm witholding

The good: first and foremost, the scene in the Gryffindor boy's room. So. Much. Love. Immediately thought of [livejournal.com profile] schuyler, of course, because LOVE! I'm so much al about Seamus, for some reason. Because he's cute and Irish and swaggery and just such a teenaged boy, but without the obnoxiousness! And also, Ron with the pigtail-ish hat, was that a shoutout at that play he was in?

Speaking of Ron! He was cute and funny and brave and hot and cute and did I mention I love him and want one of my own? "I don't want to tap dance!" And the R/H (and the H/R/H, because WOA!) and Ron being all "They'll have to cut it off," and squeeeeee! And Ron and Hermione near the Shrieking Shack were just too damn cute, and the HUGGING and the HAND-HOLDING and AWWWW!

I loved the music. I need to have the choir bit on mp3, and OMG, the SWING MUSIC! Eeexcellent!

I was really amused at Snape's Mommy Arm at the Whomping Willow. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who'd see the Mommy Arm in that, but hey! I gotta be me!

Also, as I've said in almost every comment I've posted about this movie: Gayest. Note-passing. Ever. Draco is such a pansy! (Draco: "No, she's Pansy, I'm Draco.")

And what you really want to go read is this. TWEEDMAN! Excellent!

No, you're right - that is definitely the Mommy Arm. I love that moment.

As much as I get annoyed with Snape and his inability to grow the fuck up, he does seem to care about the children in his care.

I pretty much agree with everything you said about the movie. I just was having trouble getting the words out. There were so many things I liked, but all the changes from the book and thinking it wouldn't make sense if you didn't read the book bothered me.

Oh Ron, I love him so.

From: [identity profile] meacoustic.livejournal.com

For all his dislike of the Trio, he'd do everything in his power to save their lives. That bit was probably the first time I've ever liked Snape. For about three seconds.

I want to be a Weasley, dammit! Rooon! So cute! Even cuter than his little whimper when Ginny disappeared in CoS!

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

The man needs to grow the fuck up and stop picking on Neville, dammit!

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

Ron was So. Cute. His and Harry's little moment when Ron did the half wake up but still dreaming. "You tell those spiders!"

And oh the Gryffindor boys room just made me So. Happy. I loved they showed them acting like teenagers and all relatively good friends.

And it soooo was a Mommy Arm. But Snape is a big girl that is so super petty.

From: [identity profile] jamaisneutral.livejournal.com

he's only trying to toughen him up so he doesn't end up all crazy like his parents... *shniffles*
Plus he's got a reputation to uphold for all the DE offspring.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Socute! And Seamus with his TIE and Neville and Dean and they're just SWEET and FRIENDS!

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

Seamus! He should not be so cute and so not legal!

Thewlis and Oldman though, they stole the whole movie. Ran off with it. Are possibly somewhere in the Bahamas drinking pina coladas, holding the movie ransom.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

They pranced off with it in their Giraffemobile and are now lying in hammocks (with the giraffe) on a tropical island somewhere, man.

Seaaaamuuussss! Cute little packet of swaggering Irish hotness!

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

And eeee Neville <3 My love for him is so pure.

I love Thewlis' Lupin, but oh my god was waiting for Alfonso Cuaron to top Lupin's outfit off with a pink boa and a rainbow flag for a cape.

I can still send the mp3's if you want, but I think I get them from the same source someone else mentioned in the above comments. *g*

I've had it on repeat since yesterday. :D Thanks, though!

Swing music! Why did none of my teachers ever play swing music while we battled monsters? Hell, even Maths would've been improved with some swing music!

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

A lot of my classes could've been improved with swing music!

But what was the thought process that goes into swing music and battling monsters? 'While this one up here tries to fight this monster, the rest can dance!'?

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Hee!

Boys: *attempt to dance*
Dean: "All of you are so white."

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

You know that's the reason I'm really excited about the Goblet of Fire movie?

All the bad white boy dancing that'll go on during that ball.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Oh, I HOPE they keep the Yule Ball in, if just for that!

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

What was it that Fred(or George, too lazy to get the book) and Angelina were dancing and looking like they were having some sort of fit and people just moving farther away?

I totally wish to see that part.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Ahahah! Oh, I want to see that.

(Lee: "I'm sorry, I'm going to have to pretend I don't know you now, Fred.")

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

If they keep that in, I say we petition it to have Fred doing the running man included. No white boy dance can be without it.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Dean: "I know what he's going through." *watches Seamus "dance", shudders*

From: [identity profile] lovesongwriter.livejournal.com

Hey, they invented their own style. Ya know, called 'flailing'.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

The Entire Staff: *are somewhere behind a wall laughing their asses off at the straight white boy dancing*

From: [identity profile] wimmeke.livejournal.com

I liked his shivering on the train when the dementors came. It's hard to play really, really frightened. He put down a great performance there. But like I said, so did Draco, who was way too soft this time to be really Draco. That's not how I remember him from the books. What a whimp. The joke with Harry in the cloak. Harry should have been beaten up. Almost peeing his pants on the sight of Hermione. Come on...

Heh, that felt good though ;-)

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Then again, at least it's equal opportunity confusing.

*g*

Speaking of Ron! He was cute and funny and brave and hot and cute and did I mention I love him and want one of my own?

You'd share him with us, wouldn't you? :-)

Ron being all "They'll have to cut it off,"

…especially since it looks like he learned that trick from Draco, and that after glaring at him for his behaviour. *snickers*

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Of course I'd share! And when the Revolution comes, there will be Weasleys For All!

And yes! "Stupid Malfoy. Except, hm, Pansy Parkinson sure seemed to dote on him. Oh, Hermione ..."
