I really didn't like most of the changes from the book, especially Faramir, which Zarah already talked about over here, so go read that. The cliff scene, I didn't quite like either, but we got to see some loverly Aragorn/Legolas moments (Help! I'm falling for this pairing and I can't get up!), and, of course, Aragorn cmoing through the door in Theoden's hall, a scene about which my notes say "Want. Ranger. Babies."
Also, the whole Elrond&Arwen thing. Argh? Nononono, people, Elrond would never do that!
I'm not sure what I think of the whole Theoden thing. I mean, sure, the scene was cool an all, but I really liked the book plot, too. Power of words and all that.
Now, on to the positive, mostly taken almost literally from my notes.
Ewyyyyyyyyn! I want her so fucking badly, man. She's all cool and strong and gorgeous and stuff.
The hobbits are in WUV!
Nazguuuuuuuuuuul! *lusts*
Ahahahaha! My notes say "Marcus!" Which I think is a reference to the cave trolls used to open the Black Gate.
"Where is Sam's other hand?" was a question I asked myself quite often.
Legolas jumping on the horse backwards. oizjdsdqmsq, ndaze I want Elf-boy. Badly.
Liv Tyler's upper lip is a lot bigger than her lower lip, and it's fucking distracting me every time she and Viggo snog. Argh.
Legolas and Gimli are OMG SOINLOVE!!1!1!1!1!!1111!!!!!
"Are you his bodyguard?" Dude, did anyone else see this as a reference to The Bodyguard and thus as a shout-out to us slashers? (No, yeah, didn't think so. I'm insane. Ignore me.)
"Um. L+A?" yeah, so like I said, I randly fell for Legolas/Aragorn.
Have I mentioned that the Hobbits are in love?
March of the Ents. I mouthed that entire bit of monologue from Treebeard. Geek? Who, me? Naaah.
Oh, look, random Aragorn/Gandalf moment.
"Your Sam" sqlkfjsqjdqmlkdjqser,n HOBBITS IN WUV!!!!
And that's it for the spoilers. In summary: some stuff I didn't really like, lots of stuff I loved, and my reproductive system now officially belongs to Peter Jackson.
