What I'm doing instead of writing: Reading Chick tracks.

This one's kind of rubbing me the wrong way, because taking back an abusive man unless he's actually gone through therapy? Bad idea, no matter how saved he claims to be.

This one, on the other hand, is just plain hilarious. Yo, Jack, easy on the metaphors, man.

COMMUNISM = TEH DEVl!!11111!!!1!

And WTF is with the fundamentalists in the States (I don't recall ever seeing this anywhere else) and their hatred against the Catholic Church? Not that I don't sympathise, but oi.

Edit: Rock and Roll will SEND YOU TO HELL!!!

Right, so I'm 1) not baptised, 2) gay, 3) semi-communist, and 4) a fan of rock 'n roll. So I might as well be a pervy child fancier, because I'm already on the way to hell at quadruple speed.

I really do think it's based in politics.

[The] Know-Nothing Movement, a nativist political movement in the United States in the 1850's. It was organized to oppose the great wave of immigrants who entered the United States after 1846. Know-Nothings claimed that the immigrants—who were principally Irish and Roman Catholic threatened to destroy the American experiment. The Roman Catholic church, they charged, was subservient to a foreign prince (the pope), it was growing in power, and it potentially could exert political control over a large group of people. Such nativist sentiments had long existed among many Americans, but they had never before been expressed in such powerful form.

Protestant Americans seem to be distrustful of Catholics for political reasons first, and by now it's come to be a religious thing rather than a political one, but the distrust remains.
