The one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it:
Metallica. And i'm talking about the "community" part of the fandom. The source I still like -- although hi, guys, can we get out of hiatus now, and stop fucking with my feelings by teasing us with "Maybe Jason's coming back" news? -- but the fandom, Christ, that was scary.

The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets:
Space: Above and Beyond. I still adore that show, would watch it again in a heartbeat, and if there was actually any slash still being written for it, I'd be all over it.

The mysterious dark gothy one with whom you used to sit up talking until 3 a.m. at weird coffeehouses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized she really was fucking crazy:
Lord of the Rings RPS. Touchy boylove should not give me panic attacks, much less make me psysically ill. Yes.

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you'd still really like to fuck again although you're relieved she doesn't actually live in town:
Oh, I've had a whole lot of those. The one most closely resembling the metaphor, though? Cureslash. Oh yeah. Certain people know what I mean.

The steady:
Harry Potter. Specifically, Harry/Draco. I've never been in any fandom this long, even discounting the hiatus, and my love, both for the pairing, the slash, and the universe, is still very, very strong.

The ex:
Biker Mice from Mars. Um. Shut up. It's the only fandom I've been in that I completely do not read in anymore, so. Alternately, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, although I do sometimes still go back to that fandom.

The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with:
Um. I really can't think of any. Which isn't to mean I've not flirted with fandoms, just that there's been so many of them, and they were so fleeting, I've already forgotten them. Whoops.

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you're just good buddies 'cause the friendship is there but the chemistry ain't:
... Popslash, I'd say. I love it, and I've written it, but while I at one point was heavily involved in it, there was rarely the same amount of love for the source as I have with, say, HP.

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool gal except it's never really gone anywhere:
The "Marauders" section of HP fandom. It's not that I don't like the characters, because I do, or even that I can't see them together, because I do, it's just that they can't seem to grasp my attention the way the younger and middle generations do. Hm.

The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at her and thinking, her? How the hell did she land all these cool babes?:
Almost all of the "mainstream" fandoms. The Sentinel, Hercules, due South, ... Possible exception to this: Highlander.

The one your friend has fallen for like a ton of bricks and whom she keeps babbling to you about on the phone for hours, and you'd be happy for her except you just know it's going to end badly:
Erm? I don't know. I don't usually get "Uh-oh" vibes off of other people's fannish infatuations.

And good god, is is Let's Break Melle's HEART Day or something? Owowow!

And damn you, Jeanne, now I'm back in full Dark!War!fic mode. Grrrr. *shakes fist* Perhaps I ought to see what my improv machine comes up with. Hm.

I think I'm going to abuse my microphone some more when I get home. Anything in particular anyone wants to hear me say/sing?
