You know what I hate? When people email our general work account asking to be removed from our mailing list, and starting the email with "Dear Sir". Just. Fucking hell, people, it is the 21st century, there are women in the IT business.

The worst thing is that today's example of this kind of fuckheads is a woman herself. You'd think she'd realise how insulting this kind of thing is.

Since I'm guilty of this, I think I'd better explain. I write dear sir, because I find Dear Sir/Madam to be, well, an ugly form of political correctness. I don't mind if people write it to me, since I think by this century everyone should be okay with being address as whatever.

Then again, I also do double standards because I don't mind writing the whole 'sehr geehrte Damen und Herren' bit, but that's because it doesn't look as bad, it flows more.
