I'm in serious need of either a) some serious therapy, b) a life, or c) a smack upside the head. Or possibly all three of those. Because I'm seriously considering taking sociology courses through Open University or something, getting a degree, and perhaps even trying for a Phd., all because I want to be able to study the memes/attitudes in the (slash) fanfic world in a scientific manner.

Hee! I wouldn't worry. I've long wanted to apply to be Nsync's group therapist and write my master's thesis on the issues involved in being so rich and famous and sharing it with four other men.

Also, I got a degree in sociology because I totally fell in love with Glen Bateman's analysis of the world in The Stand.

The Stand! Eee! I loved that book! I read the unabridged version when I was thirteen, and I've loved it ever since. Sigh.

Geeks of the world, unite?

Yes! ::unites, whatever that may mean:: I read that version every summer. It's like ritual by now.

Yes! Join the Revolution, my child!

(Er, don't mind me. I was brought up a socialist. It never really goes away again.)

Ooh, Revolution? Revolution where? ::raised by wannabe hippies, she puts on her tie-dyed Grateful Dead t-shirt, hemp necklace, Birkenstocks, packs some good protest music, and runs over to join::

Um, ahem. Are we revolting against The Man or Randall Flagg or O-Town or JC's stylist or anyone in particular or just a sort of generalized French-style bread riot?

Re:

It's a kind of general Let's Get Rid Of All The Things We Don't Like kind of Revolution.

(Although I prefer the Belgian Revolution to the French one. Not many countries can say they gained independence because of an opera. Heh. :)
