Having a slight dilemma about the Lotrips thing. I don't really feel like getting worked up about it, and god knows I already feel bitter, and old, and completely unable to uster the enthusiasm to debate even my "pet cause" (RPS) anymore. On the other hand, I feel that if no one speaks up about things like the OTPing, the "believers", and trivial stuff like the freaking topposting, then they're forever gonna be like this, because 90% of that list appear to be new to RPS if not fandom, and they'll just create their own version of netiquette, and argh.

Maybe I'll just unsub.

In other news, I love my dad and brother. Also, the youngest one appears to have bought a second hand PlayStation, with FFIX. Ooooh! Wabt!

Have considered unsubbing. Especially since Dale's Lotrippers list has updates of all the good stuff without the annoying chatter.

Oooh, FFIX! I'm only about four hours or so into it, but yay! Lovely game.

It's difficult, isn't it?

Yes, I'm going to speak up about those things (except the top posting, because I'm less than versed in the technical side of that and I'd do more harm than good posting while irritated).

The "believers" worry me. I mean, I might wonder if maybe Matt and Ben did experiment once as teens in reality, but I can't say I believe even that.

It's the newness that makes me think that showing the POV is what's needed.

And like I said, I'm damned if I'll let them drive me off a list where I am interested in talking to most of the people.

I's sorry to hear about the LOTR fandom nastyness. Hopefully the bad people willll come to their senses. Or just keep to themselves for the rest of their fandom existantce. Or something like that.

But ooo! FFIX! Slashy men with tails and black mages! *g*

I'm quite enjoying this particular kernuffle. I don't care quite enough for it to upset me, but I care enough to participate in the discussion. Plus, I'm on something of an ego trip.

I do think someone needs to teach people netiquette, and if you're not smart enough to pick it up based on example, someone needs to explain it to you. In this case, that would be us old and bitter ones.

Re:

Yeah, but see, I hate it when I come off as old and bitter, even though I am. :/

Ah, well, there's a difference. I don't care if I come off as old and bitter, and I don't mind being The Bitch.

You know what my latest random, stupid idea was? Create a fic-only list called Lotripping. I tend to dislike the idea of a fic only list in that it means I miss interesting discussions, but at the same time, I know all the people I'd want to discuss things with and that's what we have MIrc for *G* I think a fic only/chat on MIrc list could be pulled off... do you? Then again, I'm a dork, and this is a dumb idea, and I'm gonna go sit over there now...

Re:

Actually various people have brought up the idea of a fic-only list. I know at least one person's already emailed the listmod of LotR_RPS to ask permission. I'll let you know where to find this list once it's created, yes?

Speaking of Gandalf

I got one of my (male) friends who usually doesn't seem to have a dirty mind to think nasty things about Gandalf's shining staff.

BWA HA HA HA!

I got my boyfriend to to make Gandalf/Frodo, Frodo/Sam, and Merry/Pippin jokes, including the now classic "It comes in pints?" routine *G*

My friends are learning to spot the subtext. One of them bought People and she and her roommate brought it to a meeting this week to show me the pic of Sean A kissing Elijah. They weren't surprised that I'd seen it, but I greatly appreciated the gesture.

I won't comment much on LOTR stuff, as I'm not in that fandom...

But I will say that I love FF...all the games, especailly 9 (Kuja is beautiful!) and 8...and 7. :)
