Wheee! Euro! Shiny new toy coins to play with! (Sae? Key? Mtre? Any Euro-zone person? I'm not the only one who thinks they look like toy coins, right?)

they look like those chocolate coins wrapped in shiny paper... *sigh* and the bills look like monopoli money... oh joy... ><;;

Toy coins, check. Shiny, check. As ugly as shiny toy coins can be, check.

Yes they do!! And the bills are even worth in my opinion. And would you look at the colours please, I mean, everybody knows that pink, brown and orange don't match at all. Yuck.

Yep, they do. Definitely. The coins are kinda nice IMO, but the bills are just weird. Too colorful for my liking.

No, you're not, but I appear to be the only one who thinks they're nifty and rockin'. Sniff. I mean, finally we get colourful money (the likes of which I fell in love with the first time I went to the Netherlands) and then no-one likes it! Meh. *hugs Euro protectively*

Heh. Despite being in Britain, I managed to get some chocolate Euros. Those looked excellent, but they must be bigger than the actual coins.

Yay! At last I've found another Euro supporter.   :-)

Believe it or not, but coming home to a new currency and actually getting my first euros on Tuesday was an emotional moment for me.   ;-)   I studied Accountancy a few years back and at times it seemed we had to learn about nothing but the euro. So it's great to finally have it in my pocket. Also, the small Euro countries now have a major currency instead of their pathetic national ones. Good riddance, Belgian Franc!    :-)

Re:

I'm okay with the bills, actually, but that might be because I'm used to colourful money. But the coins, yeah, all the shinyness is odd.

Hehe. See, I'm used to colourful bills. We've always had them. Red (100 BEF), yellow (200 BEF), blue (500 BEF), grey (1000 BEF), purple (2000 BEF) and more.

Re:

I'm used to the colours, it's the shinyness of the coins that confuses me. That and the fact that all the coins below &eur;0.5 are copper, and look way too much alike.

Re:

Oh, I like it, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying all the shinyness is distracting. You know me. ;D

Surprisingly enough, I seem to be able to tell them apart. I'm spending waaay too much money though, because everything seems so cheap now when in fact it is even more expensive than it used to be. :(
