(Edit: It's not that I think everyone has to use their real name on their fanfic. Just that if the above sentence is your only response to a topic posted for discussion, you're not exactly being helpful, you're just being obnoxious.)

I finally unsubbed from FCA-L because I was getting so frustrated with the mail...it seems like there's more fights than conversations...

I chose to use my real name back when I started writing because in case I got discovered I didn't want anyone else to be blamed (I figured I took on the responsibility of getting found out from the moment I used someone else's account), and also because I wanted my name on my stuff.

I chose to use a pseud for RPS for a couple of reasons. The first being that even when I started writing I wasn't 100% comfortable with it, that took a while. Also, I'd rather not have the squicked be able to identify it too closely (though admittedly it's not difficult to figure me out, and I have chosen that path as well). And I really do believe that there is a different audience for RPS than there is for FPS, and I'd like to be thought of as an author rather than as myself for anyone who comes across my stuff anywhere but on the lists.

And I actually do use my pseud on ff.net now, but that's mostly because my account with my name was on my old Yahoo ID that disappeared when my lists did.

And yes...they do seem to hiss, don't they.

Now I've figured that out, I'm quite enjoying observing the fighting. And the actual discussion is quite interesting.

Want to take bets on how long my Blair's father post will take to degenerate into snarkiness? I figure two digests at most.
