Argh! And yes. And I have a video of the two of them doing One Too Many Mornings, and a) I find Mr Dylan rather sexy, b) I find Mr Cash rather sexy, and c) I find them rather slashy.
Ther problem is, see, that I can't write Dylanslash. I don't know why. I think mainly because I can't seem to get a grip on what he's really like. Unlike with the Sex Pistols, or Metallica, or U2, I have really no interest in the person behind the music.
I mean, I love music with a passion, but the person behind it is irrelevant to my enjoyment of the music. There's plenty of music I like without liking the musicians, and vice-versa. Metallica, the Sex Pistols, U2, they're all interesting to me as persons, but Dylan ... He's kind of a non-entitly, seperated from his music. He's purposefully created a smoke screen of myths and stories between his life and what's known about it to the public, and neither the myth nor the man behind it are as fascinating to me as, say, James Hetfield or Sid Vicious are.
Which is not to say I wouldn't read it it. I'd love to read it. (Actually, i'd like even Dylan het, with Joan Baez. Because god, they were a sexy couple. Rowr.)
That makes a lot of sense. I mean, there are a lot of people who I don't have an interest in behind the music or the acting. I can't imagine slashing Reba McEntire, but I adore her music. Or Patrick Swayze, in the acting side of things. I love him, but have no interest whatsoever in Patrick fic. A couple of his characters, OTOH...
Yes, yes, yes. I know what you mean.
I really do like the BSBs as slash characters better than their music (not that I hate it, I have a couple of their CDs, it's just not something I seek out), and I've barely heard any NSync stuff, but I'm compulsively reading slash about them.
I was thinking about this, and there are people I love as entertainers who don't strike that writing/interest place in me, and there are people I love to read and write who I don't have a connection with as entertainers.
I think fascination is the right word. Sometimes it hits like a bolt of lightning. Other times it's a smouldering fire.
I would love to read it too. But I know I couldn't write it.
Oh, and yes - Joan Baez. I wouldn't mind slash about her either...rowr.

Hmmmmm....
Dammit, I don't need to start finding Johnny Cash slashy.
But...ooh, The Man In Black. Yes.

No, brain, no!

Because this would be ever so nice.
I just can't stop imagining my father's face. Slashing country singers *giggle* (Garth Brooks doesn't count, Dad doesn't like him). He'd be shocked.
I won't discourage you...
