Considering wether or not I'm gonna go see the Harry Potter movie. I have this rather defined image of the characters in my head, and I'm afraid those'll be replaced by the images of whoever's playing them in the movie. Also, looking at the pictures of the cast, I'm not sure they mesh enough with my mental image of them for me to be able to 'get into' the movie.

Harry is perfect. He's just like my In-My-Head Harry. Ron is a little too chubbby and doesn't seem to have any freckles, but I'll let that slide. Hermione is too. Friggin. pretty. Evil Warner Bros and their evil American view on things. Draco is perfect, too. At least my two favourites would be exactly as they are in my head. But I don't know if that makes up for the rest.

Snape is way skinnier than that. Dumbledore is okay. McGonagall looks far, far, far too old. [She's 70. Considering wizards grow a lot older than humans, I picture her to look about 45. She looks older than friggin Dumbledore, and he's over twice her age. Bluddy.] Hagrid looks a bit too hairy for me, but I could live with it

The Dursleys are brilliantly cast. Most of the confirmed 'supporting students' look good as well. Whoever cast John Cleese as Nearly Headless Nick should be given a Nobel Price or something. Ditto for Rick Mayall as Peeves. Man, that's just about enough to make me wanna go see the movie.

Rest of the supporting cast look okay, too.

I think, in the end, it'll depend on wether or not there are any more 'glaring errors' in the as-of-yet-unconfirmed cast. [Mostly the twins.]

I didn't like their Draco, looks too much like Macaulay Culkin to me. Draco in my head looks a lot more like those portraits you see of 16th-century French aristocrats, all pointed features and literally looking down their noses at the painter. LOL.

Interesting casting for Flitwick--I knew he was tiny, but it never occurred to me that JKR might have meant him to be an actual little person. Rik Mayall is brilliant in all ways, shapes and forms, huzzah. :-)

I have no idea if this is coming out at the same time in the US and Britain, or whether it's debuting in Britain or what. I'm sure when the ads for it start running 50,000 times a day on television, I'll have my answer...

I dunno, I did picture Draco to be short and squared, and yes, even chubby in te first book. I'm sure the babyfat will disappear with time.

Yeah, I didn't picture F. to be this short, either, but oddly enough it doesn't really grate me as much as McG. or Hermione do. It's more of a 'oh, this is not my in-my-head picture, but this fits much better thing.

I'll prolly end up going - my youngest brother wants to go and I'll take him. I'll prolly be btiing my nails so i don't throw popcorn at the screen and yell things, though.
