He was talking about how anyone who killed innocents was bad and evil and anyone doing busines with countries killing innocents was just as bad and on the side of the terrorists and bla bla bla.

Guess he kinda conveniently forgot about all the innocents killed in the gulf war and in the bombings of Yuguslavia. Grr.

(I understand that this was inevitable/neccesary/whatever. But that speech (what I saw of it) struck me as rather hypocrite.

The problem with politics. The new breed answers for the crimes of the old.

G-Dub wasn't in office when those atrocities happened, so I can't really hold him responsible. The actions of past Presdients, unfortunately, reflect on the current. Particularly if a president was your father.

There's no way to avoid casulties in war. I think America's doing the best it can to keep the body count to a minimum, in this case, so as not to repeat past mistakes in warfare. We're targeting specific military sites for attack, and most of Kabul has actually been evacuated - civilians were fleeting into the mountains and the Northern territories the day after the attacks.

We can't change what happened, but we can keep it from happening again. As much as I don't like G-Dub, and I didn't vote for him, he's not doing too shabby. He's STILL the same old bonehead he was before all this happened, so this will be a real test of his mettle.

::sigh::

Re:

I'm not saying he, personally, is responsible. But what he said was (imo) hypocritical nonetheless, because the country he is president of has a long history of killing innocents. Wether or not these "casualties" could be avoided is not the point. The point is he condemded all countries doing business with countries killing innoecnts, and yeah, sorry, but that sounds hypocritic to me.

(Note: I only caught part of his speech, and I'm just up. I may be incoherent.)
