There are times I look at someone like Wade Robson and realise he's achieved more at 18 than I'm likely to achive before I'm 30, and I get slightly depressed. Then I realise he's bound to peak soon, and he'll have whole life to look back on that. I prefer to peak at, say, 70-ish. Then I'll have a decade or two, three to look back in satisfaction before I die.
And really, if you think about it, I'm doing pretty good. I've got a job, a place of my own, a lovely girlfriend, great friends, inspiration and an audience to do what I like best (write) and basically, I'm independant. That's much more than a lot of people my age can say.
Who cares if a handful of teenagers are insanely famous and making tons of money? I have something they most likely don't have: a future that's much brighter than the present.
For the ones who had a notion
A notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin
To be glad you're alive
