Someoneshould write something called History Of Online Fandom: a chronicle of fandom and its wars. Cause dude, I'd so like to read that, and finally find out details about things like the big Homicide split, all the shit in Sentinel fandom, due South quarrels, stuff like that.

I'm a gossip. ^_^

It's been proposed multiple times...

Things like that have been proposed multiple times but the problem seems to be what is defined as a war and who would do it and how to present the ideas... because big things don't always matter to some people...

Mmmmm... but if you do want to do something like that, let me know as I can think of a few Trek incidents and stuff where I know what happened in the fandom... I'd love to help with that.

Re: It's been proposed multiple times...

And of course, then there'd be a war over what was actually a war, and what wasn't, and one over how to present the ideas, and by the time it was finished, there'd need to be another study documenting the splittings during the making of the first study and...

Oh, never mind. I've confused myself now *g*

Sad but true....

And as time goes by, people forget (or would really rather like to forget) some of those splits... or the fights loose importance... and the logic behind them gets forgotten. (Like the reason I left ff.net to begin with.... all I remember is that it was very stressful when I was already stressed out and that as Writers University (http://writersu.s5.com/) is now, life is much more happy (where that is concerned) and much less stressful. So if some one did ask, they'd have to dig through that, find old posts, ask people which might refeul people into being crass and mean in situations I'd rather not have them in and give those old problems as a reason to justify new hatred towards the people fights were directed at...

Re: Sad but true....

But as long as either of the parties involved is still in fandom, a really big 'war' will still have an influence on people, and at least this way, there would be a place for newbies to go and get both sides of a dispute together.

Oooh, the big Homicide split, lmao.

It's a good idea, but it'd have to be written from an unbiased point of view, with interviews from both sides. It would be very hard to iron out all the details and not make one side better than the other.

Especially with Homicide. Especially with some of the thing the Autofocus faction did.

Here's my unbiased interview--hate the bitches, always will, well aware it's mutual and don't give a shit. Toodles! :-D

See, that's my point. I don't even know which bitches you're talking about, much less why you hate them. And I'm curious.

Re:

Er...Hayz can fill you in (privately, please--LOL) if you really want, it's a long story. Suffice it to say that the whole Metslash/Tallific mess just made me nod my head and go, "Yup, yup...*been* there, *done* that."

Oh yes! That would be fascinating!

I would SO read that.
