Coworker has gone home with horrific-sounding mystery stomach ailment, so I'm sitting around on the Flemish line without much to do. (I could do the e-mails, but then I'd have no reason for overtime, and also I'd prefer to be able to concentrate on them.) There is, like, no one calling. I'm doing Dutch callbacks to people who've left voice mail messages in the last, um, month (seriously, when I started doing this earlier in the week, the oldest message was from mid-September), but that's only gonna last me till me break in forty minutes.

Can't I go home yet?

Who the hell throws away a nearly-full bottle of shampoo because the top broke off? More proof that common sense just isn't! I mean, I offered to reimburse the guy, but he refused. I said I'd pass on his comments, he said "it won't make a difference, don't even bother," dismissively. Okay, sir, whatever. Did you actually want something, or did you go through the trouble of calling just to bitch some? Because hey, fine, no skin off my back, just tell me so beforehand and 'll not waste my time suggesting actual, you know, solutions.

Honestly now.

(Y'know, the vast majority of the people who call us have a legitimate complaint and are polite and cooperative about getting it resolved, but every now and then you get a true asshole with problems bigger than a simple CSR can take care of.)
