I dislike people warning explicitly for slash in the warnings (the pairing alone should be enough warning, dagnabbit!), giving slash a higher rathing simply because it's slash (a m/m kiss should rate the same as a m/f kiss) and generally reinforcing the idea that slash is somehow inferior to and dirtier than 'normal' het.
Also, disclaimers along the lines of "I don't own X and Y and they're used without permission, but Z is mine and if you use him/her without my permission I will hunt you down and kill you." You're writing fanfiction. Isn't it a bit hypocrytical to forbid fanfic when it comes to your own characters?
More stuff ... there's a bit of a dilemma between fair warning to the reader for certain content and not wanting to spoil the reader. This is why RareSlash and RS-X have 'generic warnings'. If you have underage sex, death, or whatnot, but you don't want to spoil the story, you can just say "Possibly disturbing themes ahead" and you're covered.
That's about all I can think of now.

and i am very protective of my OC's, but i wouldnt likely say something like that. you canw rite about my chara, just have the decency to e-mail me and tell me you liked it.. grr.. hate people that dont e-mail me about stuff.. (or people that direct link my hanson slash stories! (not the ones on ff.net) wah! and dont even fucking e-mail me about it! anyway..)
i hate spoilers for stories. to me, even a *rating* can be a spoiler sometimes. i'd rather say disturbing content ahead than warn for anything else. but its considered 'polite' and i really dont like people to think i am implote. but thanks for the comment, it has kicked the column muse into gear a little, i think.
