So I'm caught up typing up what I wrote so far of the Zombie Apocalypse fic, and it totals just under 6K now. I've about a scene and a half left to write for part one, and then there's two more parts after that, though I'm not sure if those'll end up quite this long, but still.

(I just hope this damned thing is done by, oh, October, so I can have a bit of breathing space in which to panic about NaNo. Except it'd have to be done a lot sooner so I can rewrite and retool and have it beta'ed and AUGH!)

Also, I keep finding myself researching the weirdest shit for this damned story. Thank god for wikipedia.

October should be a fun month for this fandom, shouldn't it? The epicness that you're planning, my Big Bang that should be sorted out by then and hopefully either a fanmix or fanart to go with it. YAY! :P

If by "fun" you mean "busy", sure. :p

I really, really hope I get this done and posted by October, because I actually have an idea for NaNo this year, and I really kind of want to finish it again. I figure if I try and write at least a thousand or so words a day, and I don't take, like, a year to finish the post-beta rewrite like I did with my last long fic, I should be able to make it. Possibly. Gah.

I'll probably be out of town, without a laptop, for a week of October. *headdesk* Then I need to weight the pros of going to the Halloween Party to the con of seeing the guy I took last year with this ... other woman. Bitch, she knew damn well I'd been crushing on him for years! Bastard, he knew damn well I liked him a lot!
*headdesk* Really, I'm not that angry, I just rant here so I don't rant in real life and scare people.
Hopefully I'll be back into the Heroes swing of things by October, so I'll be updating my journal weekly, at least ...

I know how you feel. When I get deadlines, I want to have the project done waaaaay early so I can relax and get edits without stressing. Meanwhile, my friends goof off, stress out, and then turn things in shoddy and/or late. I can't procrastinate with academic stuff. My mother swears I'm a changeling.

(P.S. When does one sign up for NaNo? I can never remember, and next year I might want to do it myself ...)

See, normally, I do my best work against deadlines -- I procastinate, but I always start working in time to be finished (just) in time and still do a good job. This is just a self-imposed deadline, really. :D
