"Context-Free Living!" I already do a lot of that, thanks spammers.

WoW Blithering

My main is halfway through level 68, and even if i skip the group quests, I should be able to hit 70 in another couple of sessions. (Mmm, Outland. XP heaven!) Once I hit 70, I'm thinking of starting a guild to go and do pre-BC endgame content and shit, and levelling help, because I'm nowhere near ready to hit the current endgame stuff, I don't think, and dammit, I want to see these dungeons.

(Anyone Alliance-side on Stormrage want to join an easy-going family-type guild? Anyone Alliance-side on Stormrage at all? I like running people through instances and shit, because when you're level 60-something, Scarlet Monastery is surprisingly zen and calming after the frustration of elite group quests in Outland) and all I ask in return is someone to talk to me while I get my ass gored by elite goats. :D )

Also, I have a wee dwarf pally now, who's currently enjoying the hospitality of the good people of Lakeshire while I finish levelling my hunter, probably getting sloshed while I'm not looking. If anyone sees a red-headed dwarf pally in Lakeshire, be a dear and listen to her tale of PUG woe, would you? (First time I ever quit a PUG. I'm stubborn, but even I'm not that stubborn. I may just end up getting a higher level to run me through or something because augh. But then I'll never get in practise in tanking. Woe.)

My Friends Are More Awesome Than Your Friends (Unless Your Friends Happen To be My Friends As Well)

On Saturday, [livejournal.com profile] dantesvendetta came over for Robin Hoodage and food, and brought me a DVD player. A purple one.

Best. Fake Girlfriend. EVER. :D

Speaking of Robin Hood ...

Guy, naked and wet and bedraggled. I'm starting to sense a theme here -- this is clearly the season in which all the boys get stripped half-naked and then soaked. I heartily approve! \o/

Other Stuff

I've been batting around the idea lately of getting into freelance web design. Because when people whose site is made in freakin' FrontPage, with the standard blue-underlined links and everything, can get away with charging £200-300 for a four-page website, presumable also made in FrontPage, then I can earn a cool £100-150 for hand-coding that same four-page website in a few hours' work, I'd think.

I've convinced two people at work who have/are setting up their own business to let me design their website for free in return for getting to use them as a portfolio, so including my own site, once I manage to beat it into behaving, that'll be three sites I can show off to potential clients. I'm not expecting to be bringing in the big bucks any time soon, let alone make a living off this, but any extra money is good, innit?

Don't forget that they also roll around with each other on beds and get in the tub together on the flimsy excuse of 'fighting'. Yeah, right! :P

Yes! That! Seriously, the BBC have clearly given up on straight boys as a target audience and are totally going for the straight women and gay men this season. Lots of half-nekkid men, inappropriate touching (hello, Guy and Alan, and speaking of which, where is my porn, internets?), slashy subtext like whoa ("this relationship," Guy?), ... I approve of this! :D

Not to mention all those Guy/Sheriff allusions which have well past suxtext into the realms of text, even when it's slightly squicky.

hello, Guy and Alan, and speaking of which, where is my porn, internets?

For some reason, there's hardly any good fanfiction in this fandom at all. Woe!

Seriously, my god, the subtext is going to give me a freakin' nosebleed over here! O_o

I know! So annoying! And it's not like there's not like a gazillion pairings to chose from, either. Guy/Sherrif, Guy/Robin, Guy/Alan (I'm sensing a theme ...), Alan/Will, Robin/Will, Djaq/Marian, and I'm not even mentioning straight pairings or threesomes yet! And yet, there's hardly any, and what there is is mostly mediocre at best. Woe indeed!

In harry potter related news today:

Can I order some Dumbledore / Grindelwald from the mistress herself ?

In front of a full house of hardcore Potter fans at Carnegie Hall in New York, Rowling, sitting on the stage on a red velvet and carved wood throne, read from her seventh and final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," then took questions. One fan asked whether Albus Dumbledore, the head of the famed Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, had ever loved anyone. Rowling smiled. "Dumbledore is gay, actually," replied Rowling as the audience erupted in surprise. She added that, in her mind, Dumbledore had an unrequited love affair with Gellert Grindelwald, Voldemort's predecessor who appears in the seventh book. After several minutes of prolonged shouting and clapping from astonished fans, Rowling added. "I would have told you earlier if I knew it would make you so happy."

You know, one day, I'm goingg to offer to put out, and then we'll both flail at each other and run to hide in opposite directions.

(I may have to wait to do this until Anna is in town, becuase she'll never forgive me if she misses that. Hee.)

Dude! You're Alliance-side on Stormrage?! Me too!

I have a hell of a time getting my shit together enough to play these days, but, I've got my main base there, and so does my fiance!

Aranea (61 Warrior), Yondalla (53? Priest), Naryadae (35 'lock), Skifander (22 Hunter) . . .

Yaye, company! :D I'm Kaiilen (L69 NE huntress), Lieveling (L20 pally) or Beras (L10 Bank mule) on there. Hit me up next time you're there!

Lieveling ???!!!111

Uhm...

Not sure why it makes me laugh out loud but... Well, bite me, I think it's funny you picked a Dutch name after all.

You're level 70 and I resisted this temptation the whole time. Sure I held up a WOW box several times in a store but I'm still WOW less...

I still wish I hadn't given in on OGame, Dark Pirates and Navy Field, bot no World of Warcrack :)
