Now that my domains are back online, I think it's time to start faffing about with journals and things a bit. I'm not leaving LJ, for obvious reasons, but I'm thinking of setting up a wordpress blog, backing up my LJ including all comments to it fore safekeeping, and using it as a jump-off point for crossposting between LJ/JF/IJ/GJ. And then, of course, I need to figure out what to post where and why, and what to do with my writing and crafts journals, which don't have mirrors on JF/GJ/IF, and AUGH! This whole exodus business is annoying, and coming to it a dollar late and a day short doesn't help.

Aaanyway. Have a meme, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgy:

  1. Go to http://www.careercruising.com/;
  2. Put in Username: nycareers, Password: landmark;
  3. Take their "Career Matchmaker" questions;
  4. Post the top ten results.

So, uh, my top ten:

  1. Makeup Artist
  2. Historian
  3. Archivist
  4. Optical / Ophthalmic Lab Technician
  5. Special Effects Technician
  6. Tailor / Dressmaker
  7. Computer Programmer
  8. Computer Trainer
  9. Environmental Consultant
  10. Security Systems Technician

Most of those make sense in some way at least, but um. Make-up artist? I've barely managed to mastrer the fine art of applying mascara without stabbing the brush thingie into my eye -- barely, because I still sometimes do that -- and I wear make-up largely because drawing on myself otherwise gets me weird looks, and these people want me to be a make-up artist? o_O

On the up side, in 11th place: gunsmith. Awesome! \o/ In 20th place: Magician. Er. And writer doesn't come in until number 24, woe. But still!

Eeee!

Hm, need to look into that, I think. When where you planning to come? Because if you want to come over during the Festival, BOOK NOW, no joke. Are you looking for, say, a B&B, a youth hostel, or just general area recommendations?

I am not sure, honestly. When is the festival? And what do you think are good times to come? I'd like to stay in a place where I don't have to worry about getting anything stolen or my person molested (... heh. well, that all depends, but you know what I mean. ;))

I stayed at a good Youth Hostel on the Mile. I can dig up the name if you want.

The Festival is the entire month of August.
