Ugh. First call on a Monday morning should not be from an asshole who gets belligerent when asked to pull the fuck over because we're not allowed to talk to people while they're driving, for reasons that should be bleedin' obvious.

(Amusingly enough, he actually asked to be "transferred to another customer service representative, as you're clearly not one of the nice ones." </F_W Cabal injoke>)

I really hate calls like that, because even though they don't bother me per se, they often trigger an adrenalin rush that leaves my hands shaking for like five, ten minutes afterwards, which is incredibly annoying.

On the bright side, my working week is two days long this week, woohoo!

Also, this looks interesting and I should therefore stay far, far away from it.

Yeah, I'm hearing all sorts of stuff about bugs and resource-eating, whichis sad, cause I like it in principle, but if it's gonna eat more memory than my addon-loaded WoW, it's not really worth it. :/

The Mac client barely runs on my iBook, and it really, really wants a very fast internet connection. It was great fun on the uni's super-fast connection, but frustrating on our 1mbs link at home.

The actual grid frequently goes down - the problem with allowing user-created content is that you get malicious content. They've had 'grey goo' problems with self-replicating objects, and there's 'griefers' that use objects/code to do things like push you so hard you end up in the next server.

But I do have to say: once I get a newer computer and a faster link, I'm going to get back into it.

Yes, literally. The way it works is that each area bounary is a server, and you can (more-or-less) seemlessly walk from one to another.

You can also buy your own server - or island - for many monies.
