This is now officially my most favourite James/Kirk moment ever:

Kirk grinned brightly. "It's okay. I know you were worried about James trying to kill you." He nudged James lightly with his shoulder. "Don't worry about it, though. He's really not as bad as everyone says he is."

"Kirk," James growled in warning.

"He's actually nice once you get to know him."

"Kirk."

"Why, you'd never even know he was a vicious gunslinger."

"Kirk, you little--"

"Or that he's scared of spiders."

"Kirk!"
