Overheard At Work:

One: What're you doing with your money?
Two: I ... I ate it?

I just ... don't want to know, do I?

I have a post brewing about blood ties versus chosen family and stuff, but that might take a while. LIke, a couple of days, probably. In the meantime, though, it's brought on another question , and therefore an excuse for a poll.

I'm sure this happens to everyone from time to time: someone posts something, in an entry or in a comment somehere, that sparks off a thought in your head which doesn't necessarily relate more than tangentially (if that) to that person's point, so you then go off and write a post about it in your LJ. Do you link that post back to where the thought was sparked?

[Poll #722900]

Feel free to elabroate in comments. (Sorry for the deleted entry/repost, folks, I'd forgotten to add the second question.)

In other news, I just went to the loo, and the stall smelled of cotton candy. o_O I am officially afraid of my co-workers.

It depends on how much it related to the post- my brain can do pretty weird tangents- and also how flattering it was to the original party. I mean, I'm not about to say "X said Y, and I thought, hahaha, you moron." Not of they're on my f'list, anyway. ^_^

Just want to add:

For the first question, I'd ask for permission first if it was a locked post.
Second question, if it's a locked post I'd like to be asked if there will be names and so in a summary.

I don't link, usually. It depends on how much it can be related back to the post that sparked the thought. I go off on some incredibly weird tangents sometimes and when I finally stop I have no idea how I've gotten from where I started to where I ended up. I do generally say something like, "I was reading an article online/in the newspaper," "I saw something on my friends page that made me think of this," and so on, but that's as specific as I get most of the time.

Not that my opinion really matters since most of those entries end up being private anyhow. XD
