Mark This Date: Today, I played X-Box. The last (and until tonight, only) console I ever played on was the original Nintendo one, so by "played" I mean of course "mashed the buttons". I can't even remember what game it was--some Mortal Kombat type fighting game with lots of bouncy boobies. (What? I'm deep, honest!)

Also, I finally found my dice! They were in a bag I'd not used for months, together with my iPod dock. Yaye!

Hey, I just doused my iPod in water, do you have an sagely advice? (Aside from "stop crying you idiot, it's a piece of machinery, not a living thing". But I'm a long way from home, and I want it back.)

I'd open it up to let it dry, actually. Just take something sharp--I used a potato peeler, myself--and insert it between the metal bit and the white bit, you should be able to get it open quite easily. Let it dry ... in the sun if you can, or on a radiator or something? Not sure if you want to dry blow-drying it. Maybe take a cotton bud to it to get the worst off, then blow-dry a bit. But let it dry for at least 24 hours before you try putting it together and switching it on again, more if you can stand the wait.

Good luck!

Actually, it won't turn off. I got it off for a while, but it turned itself back on again. Doesn't opening the back void the warantee? Not that they'd fix water damage anyway, but you know, if something else goes wrong later. (ahah sob)

Ah, yes, hadn't realised you were still under warranty--it does, I think, void the warranty, but then I don;t know how noticable that's going to be. If it keeps turning itself on, there's a short somewhere, I think. Your biggest risk, I think, will be the screen. As long as that's okay, you might want to risk just letting it dry as it is (it'll switch off as soon as the battery's empty) rather than risk voiding the warranty, actually.
