Fandom Pet Peeve #2

People saying "It's just a show." Or "It's just a book." Or "It's just a band."

Maybe it is to you, but some of us do care a lot about our chosen fandom, and no one has the right to deem other's fan-dom [as in, the fact of being a fan] 'silly'. You may see the object of their fandom as 'silly', yes, but what people like or dislike should not be judged. Who the fuck are you to say "You're silly for caring that much about that?"

I'm not being clear but you catch my drift.

I'm glad I finally learned how to do it, myself. In my experience, the only thing that comes from not speaking your mind is burnouts in fandoms, fucked-up relationships with people [hi, mum] and general unhappiness. And yes, I know that's very selfish of me.

my worst peeve is people hearing about my hanson obsesison and saying 'they suck' 'they're gay' or 'they are so old'..

it ticks me off to no end. *sigh* people just dont understand us.
