From [livejournal.com profile] dantesvendetta:

1) Do you drink more tea or coffee? How do you take it?

Coffee. I don't drink tea at all. (Don't kill me, I know this makes me a bad import Brit.) Black, no sugar. I'm really quite simple when it comes to drinks. I rarely drink anything (non-alcoholic) other than water, juice, or coffee or the occasional chocolate milk. No soft drinks (ew!), no tea, no fancy crap.

2) What did you want to be when you were younger?

An archaelogist. Yes, when I was but a wee one, five or six at the oldest. I'd blame Indiana Jones, but really, getting paid to sit in the dirt all day was (still is) my idea of winning at life. What? I was a weird kid, okay?

3) Why bubosquared?

Because bubosquared = bubo squared = bubo2 = bubo bubo = the Latin name for the Eurasian Eagle Owl, which is sort of "my" owl--my real first name (Sofie) comes from the Greek for wisdom, Athena is the godess of wisdom, and her "symbol" is the owl. It sounds really complicated, but I've been vaguely collecting owl stuff since I was born, pretty much, and it made sense at the time.

4) You have 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

One: Enough money that I never, ever have to work again.
Two: Peace on earth, good will towards all, no more hatred/racism/homophobia/etc.
Three: A big party with all my friends, lots of food and drinks, music, etc.

5) Which language do you wish you could speak?

Spanish, which seems like a language I'd take to quite easily, and which would really help me get a job in the States

From [livejournal.com profile] eurmalian:

1)How did you get into slash?

Once upon a time, about ten years ago, I'd just got on the internet, and as I was looking for some info on a TV show called Space:Above and Beyond, I stumbled across the Space Smut Archive. (Don't feel like googling for the URL, so sue me.) There was het there, and slash, and once I'd read all the slash I pretty much ignored het for the next decade or so, heh. I branched out into first "mainstream" slash fandoms, in which I read everything I could get my hands on, that first summer, and by the time I was eighteen and old enough to actually get on slash mailing lists ([insert rant here]), I'd already developed a taste for small fandoms, and started RareSlash, and the rest, as they say, is history.

2)And a follow on of what's the most disturbing fanfic you can think of that you've read?

See, the thing about this is that I'm pretty hard to disturb. :D Probably this weird Snape/Harry thing in which Snape waxed lyrically about Harry's hairless child-body and ew. Ewwwww.

3)What do you miss most about Belgium other than the obvious one of family?

Chocolate and cheap tobacco. Especially chocolate. Mmmmm.

4)Why 'Melle'?

It's abbreviation of a pseudonym I used for about two years (2000-2002ish), after which I started writing under my real name, but the pseud/nickname stuck. I think pretty much everyone except work people and family tends to know me as Melle, these days, come to think of it.

5)Assuming that the Firefly crew are entered in a Battle Royale style contest, what order would they die in?

Simon would die first, obviously, and Kaylee probably second, then Wash, then Inara, then Zoe, then Book, ... Mal and Jayne I'm not sure about, which one of them'd die first, but River would definitely be last one standing.

bubo bubo! that is so cute.

I always thought it had something to do with boobies.

You know, you're not the first to think that. My reputation precedes me, I think. :D

Don't worry about the archaeology question! It's partly what I qualified in :)

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Oooh, cool! :)

I'm always amused remembering my teacher's face when I chirpily stopped a string of "I wanna be a ballerina," "I wanna be Superman," "I wanna be a teacher," with "I wanna be an archeologist."

"..."

*beam*

(And I could spell it correctly, too. I was a freaky little kid, in retrospect. Um.)

Actually, I live here in the States, and even in California where we have a buttload of spanish speakers, and to be honest it would not help you get a job here much at all. Unless you were looking into a lower paid job, like answering phones for a local company?
I lived in Washington for ten years, and NO one up there needs spanish. Its mainly just the states thast border Mexico and Cuba, and most of the white people there tend to resent having to speak spanish, so refuse to.

Why on earth would ANYONE want to move to the USA is beyond me... but if you want to, adn need any help lemme know, k?

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Hm, good to know. I wouldn't mind low-level jobs--it's pretty much what I do now, truth be told, and I have no ambition, but in order to get a green card, I'd need a job that can't easily be filled by US citizens. Which probably means I'm going to have to find a job in the niche market for Dutch speakers. :/

See, it's less moving to the US that I want, and more moving to NYC. :D Also, being closer to most of my mates.

Oh, thanks. This is just the plot bunny I need: Somehow it happens that they have to fight each other. Or something. Anyway, it comes down to River and Mal. She won't kill him, and he refuses to hurt her. Um. Yeah. I may be just ever so slightly into the Mal/River they're a true match kind of thing.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Tsk, honestly, it's clearly River/Mal/Serenity OT3. :P

Also, *feeds the bunny*

No feeding! I already have two unfinished Firefly fics (one Mal/River, one Mal/Kaylee) that I think aren't very good. I need no more ideas.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Sure you do! :D The more ideas, the more chances you have of getting it right!

Noooooo!

(What I really want is to figure out how to make the two I have good. One of them may be beyond hope, but the other one might be okay.)
