Shiny Thing Of The Day: [livejournal.com profile] podslash.

Have located my CV, which I thought I'd lost (wasn't on my computer, argh), at one of the jobseeking sites I signed up at back in 2004. Now I just need to update it and statr applying for jobs. I really like the sound of this filing clerk job--no contact with customers, tasks I know how to do, and how to do well, and it pays well more than I'm getting now.

I really wish I had an official job description for my current job. I'm sure it's on my contract, but that's buried in my stash of paperwork at home right now. Plus, I'm doing so much additional stuff that it'd be fairly useless even if I did find it, but it might give me an idea about how to phrase things. Anyway.

Okay, I think I managed it. Anyone want to have a look at my CV (word or pdf) and tell me how it looks? I know my home landline number is missing, I need to add that at home as I don't know it by heart.

i cannae help with the cv (i've yet to hold down a proper job and even if i had i doubt mine is the sort of help you'd require!) but i must say this:

BAHAHAH ICON. ♥

Is it not a thing of beauty? :D I want Jayne to come handle annoying customers for me.

Naw, your icon! I do not understand this River/Jayne thing (wrong Tam sibling, dammit!), but I do like River&Jayne. And Summer looks so funny!

i want jayne to come handle -- ahem, well, anyway...

hee! i too do not understand the river/jayne love but i just like the lurve the cast have for each other. i'm such a sap.

*snickers at you*

I love River&Jayne, them being friends and causing mayhem and destruction across the universe, but River/Jayne? Ew?

When it comes to the cast, I just want to throw them all into a puppy pile of LURVE! Aw, so cute.

Also:

i doubt mine is the sort of help you'd require!

And what exactly is that supposed to mean? O_o

I, ah, heard you were interested in readers for [livejournal.com profile] podslash?

'cause you've got a volunteer. *waves hand shyly*

Eeeeee! *offers you tea/coffee/chocolates/firstborn* I love you.

Were you looking at any story in specific? There's a couple I'd personally think are good for reading out loud, but frankly, anything will do me. :D

*takes the first three, winks* I love you too, you know. You're a wonderful woman.

I was thinking I'd love to read Gold and Steel, but seriously? I'd be happy to do anything and/or everything you've got. We could archive everything on your site if you want, although it might take awhile. ;)

Gold and Steel was one of the ones I was thinking of, actually. That, Evitar and Polar are the pieces that are most language-oriented. *bounce* So, how do we do this, and what do you need from me? :)

Hee - I have Audacity and a mic, so recording in .mp3 format = easy; I have the three you'd most like to hear, so that = yay, the only other thing is if you have any particular "vision" for any of the pieces - whole, or a specific paragraph. If there's something that you'd like read in a certain way and you know offhand what it should sound like - especially if it's a little different than a cold reading might suggest.

Of course, if you're going "Er, huh?" at this point I can just do the first recording, see how you like it, alter it as needed, and then go forth. ;) It's a bit experimental for me as well, altering the input volume and figuring out a middle ground where I don't breathe into the mic but I also don't have it too far away and distort the quality. [I was fiddling a bit last night.]

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

*bouncebouncebounce* No real "vision" here, except that I always "heard" the narration in Evitar (the one in present time, not quite so much in flashbacks) as a bit ... lazy? Does that make sense?

Yeah, I think I can work with that. ;) I'll be doing Gold and Steel first - I did a bit last night, and while it does need to be scrapped and started over again, I think it will give you a really good idea of how I read.

Well, god knows that the boyfriend would be amused. ;)

I've actually been looking for voicework, so this kinda cropped up just at the right time. :D Also, you're very welcome.

Heee! "Hon? Why did someone in scotland send you a crying, leaky package?"

In that case, maybe you shouldn't do Polar--I imagine explicit smut won't do all that well in a portfolio or anything. :D

Bwahaha!

Oh, no, I mean for me personally. I'm doubtful that it will ever be for a job - I just want to work at it; it also helps with singing and stuff. :D I'm happy to do the smut, darlin', and goodness knows there will be people happy to hear it. ;)

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Yay! *bounces* (... I'm just proving that personality disordertest right, aren't I?) Although I don't know that I'll be able to listen to my own smut read out loud. I have a hard time reading it sometimes. (Yes, deep down inside I can still be a prude. Hush.)
