Health, part one: Went to Boots yesterday to get some iboprufen, which I've been taking according to instructions since yesterday, and it seems to be working. I no longer have trouble swallowing, and the weird sensitive swelling on my neck's mostly gone now. The pharmacist who was nice enough to help me said that it's probably some sort of viral infection, and to go see a doctor if it's not at least mostly gone by tomorrow. We'll seehow that goes.

Health, part two: I've also started increasing my daily water intake, and keeping track of it, as well as my coffee consumption and number of cigarettes. Yesterday I had thirteen cigarettes (not too bad), a liter of coffee, and four liters of water. That's a whole gallon, people. Number of times I had to go to the loo: I don't even want to know. Geez. But it does seem to help counteract the effects of the dry, airconditioned air, so that's something.

Housekeeping and related stuff: Cleaning and clearing continues apace, and I hope to finish sorting through my crap and cleaning my bedroom by Saturday evening, as well as calling Argos (and possibly amending the order to add a computer desk, and a DVD/video tape rack? Maybe also a computer chair?) to arrange delivery for Thursday or Friday next week, when I can be home during the day.

London trip: Plans are taking on a more definite form as I've now looked into how to get there the cheapest. I can't seem to find cheap prices for the overnight train, so I'll probably be flying on BabyBMI, which is only two a few quid more than the normal train and would mean I get have to spend less time deprived of micotine. (... Hush.) I'll be there over Easter weekend, in all likelyhood, unless that's really inconvenient for anyone, arriving some time around noon on Friday 14 April, and leaving mid-afternoon on the Tuesday (or Wednesday, see below).

[livejournal.com profile] baleheadbabe, does your offer of a place to crash still stand?
[livejournal.com profile] tamsin_h, depending on who I want/need to meet up with, I'll over to Cambridge Monday afternoon/evening, if you still want me over, and then catch a train from there on Tuesday, or come over on Tuesday afternoon and then leave there early on Wednesday. Unless it's easier for you if I come first to Cambridge on Friday, and then go on to London from there on Saturday?
Everyone else, when do you want to meet up?

(Yes, I'm planning this rather far in advance. I want to be able to buy my tickets as soon as I can, so I'll not have to worry about that anymore, and book any further time off I might need.)

OAUFNaoynodifsnh!!!q

It WOULD, but my flatmate and I are going to our respective homes for Easter hols. D: If you come sometime before the 27th of March or after the 24th of April (but before the 4th of June), the offer definitely stands.

Heh. March is bad for me, unfortunately, and it needs to be before May because that's when one of my other friends starts her exams, so that narrows it down to the last weekend of April. (If she can make that, that is.) Will have to check with her and get back to you. :)

Yep yep! Just ran that by Al and he's good with it. Also, we live literally half an hour by train from Stansted, and Easyjet fly there from Edinburgh- it can be as little as fifty quid all in, including taxes, if you can get there early or late. And as we live five mins from the station, you can. Dunno if that helps or not, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

Hm, I might fly in with BMIBaby then, and fly out from Stansted. Depending on how much the train would be, it could be around £40-50, yeah.

I'll likely be the last weekend in April, though, not Easter weekend. That still okay with you?

I think so- we're visiting Amsterdam with some friends, but it'll be earlier in April than that. We're fairly easygoing on guests, so unless we're away, NP, and I don't see that in April after about the 14th.

While drinking a lot of water is good, I think 4 litre is too much. You dont' want to end up with over hydration. I think a healthy intake is 1.5-2 litre of fluids a day. Adam notes that he had one day of drinking such quantities, and he considers it an illness day.

Unless you're taking something else that causes you to retain the water - or you just don't go and pee - four litres would only be a dodgy amount to drink if you drank it in an hour or so.

I drink 3+ litres of water a day, every day (plus, generally, 500ml of milk and 500ml of Irn Bru), and it's done me nothing but good. :o)

Well, I'm kinda drinking a lot mostly because of the airco and the amount of coffee I drink, plus the illness. I don't expect to drink that much on a regular basis, but I just made sure to drink water at work, and I was really thirsty.
