So for the last few months, my computer screen has been doing this annoying thing where, every now and then, it starts rolling like a bad TV or something. Rather annoying, but usually a good slap to the side would fix it, so I wasn't too pissy that it was taking agesfor someone to actually replace my screen. Which they finally did, yesterday, apparently, and I really wish they hadn't.At least the rolling thing was only a problem from time to time, and it worked fine most of the time. This one, however, has a display that's just on the dark side of okay for me (and keep in mind that I like my contrast and brightness lower than most people to begin with), even if I crank both the contrast and the brightness up as far as they'll go, and the corners are fuzzy and out of focus, which is so not going to help me avoid headaches. Gah.

In happier news: Results of the poll, whooo!

Age: The early twenties stand out as the most represented age group by far, with just barely under 50%, but all but two of the rest of you are in the older categories, meaning that my friendslist is nicely balanced in age, and I fall around the median/average age, probably. This pleases me. :D

Location: And it's Europe for the collective win with 53%, yay! Only a little over a third of you live in the USA, and the rest are scattered in Canada, Down Under, or elsewhere. Also, i have more Scots on my flist than I realised. Er.

Gender and preference: Only five of you are tallywhacker positive, and apart from me (I'm the "Either" one), only one of you took advantage of the array of options I provided, Hrmpf. See if I give you lot a choice ever again. ;P

Only 24% of you like guys exclusively, with the rest (with the exception of one "decline to state") like women, both, or all. Note to self: talk about boobies more. :D

Names and pseudonyms: Most of you at least go by your real name, or at least by same name you go by offline, though the majority of those only use their first name. I seem to be the only one writing under their first name, but going by a pseud (well, nickname) offline. Again, I'm weird, apparently. :D (To be fair, I do go by my real name at work, but to most of my actual friends, I'm Melle, not Sofie.)

Hair: While us hair-dyers are (just) in the minority, this is still more than I expected. Huh.

High heels: While most of you think high heels are either painful or abomination, a third of you also think it's sexy, and a third of you flat-out don't care.

Women's clothes: Man, there are a lot of things wrong with women's clothes, apparently. The lack of pockets comes in at first place, with shoe woes a close second, and then a close third for ill-fitting trousers. Ill-fitting clothes in general, be it trousers, tops, bustlines, or "Hello, I am not 5'10", please make clothes for me, too?"

The lack of consistent sizing was the most popular write-in option, and I can't believe I forgot that, because OMGHATE! I once apparently went from a size 36 (UK8/US6) to a size 46 (UK18/US16) in the space of one shopping trip. Haaate! And don't get me started on winter sizes vs summer sizes, or I'll be here all fucking day.

Oh, and ruby_fruit would like to note that "Underwires are HAAAAAAATE," which, word. There need to be better non-underwire bras that don't squish boobies like sportsbras do, dammit, and until there are, I'm simply not wearing bras anymore.

What I ought to be doing: Predictibvly, only 15% of you thought I ought to actually do my job. Heeee. I love my friendslist. Also, one in five of you want me to read more porn, awww. You're so thoughtful. Sadly, I seem to have exhausted the internet's supply of porn I'm interested in. Woe.

In the write-in category, three of you want more random polls (I take requests ...), two of you want me to write assorted other bunnies that aren't the hugging!fic, and/or to finish editing the Hooker AU before it hits a year old, which, um. Yes. There was also at least one RP injoke with a reference to lubing up, and perhael wants "more of your funny LJ entries," implying I made any funny entries to begin with. :D

Most of you, however, want me to write more porn and/or write (more) hugging!fic, which of course I shall obediently go and do as soon as I'm done rambling here. And as soon as the edit on the AU is done. Yis.

Also, lokifin asked for Firefly recs, which I'll be happy to provide as soon as you tell me which characters and/or pairings you like, pet. :D

Yaye! But first,I trudge home, and take a nap. Also, I might pick up a sippy cup and some juice. Or maybe I'll just put coffee in the sippy cup, but the sentiment is there. And did I mention I woke up with my thumb in my mouththis morning? This whole Growning Up thing is overrated, man. When the revolution comes, I'm setting up a state-sponsored daycare for adults, where you can go and fingerpaint and take afternoon naps and stuff every now and then. Feh.
