I'm boooored. *pokes the internet* Somebody entertain meeee! I hate work. Haaaaate!
[ETA] I tried doing that "You know you're reading a story by me thing, and so far I've come up with:
- It's more than probably either slash, or pre-slashy gennishness;
- It will involve people who, canonically, either hate each other's guts, or don't have any actual interaction at all;
- Either that, or Weasleys and/or that Lee Jordan fellow;
- Woobification of Big Dangerous characters likely occurs;
- If it's het, it's creepy;
- It's dialogue-heavy;
- There's lots of attempts at wit, or at the very least lines that are all but jumping up and down, waving their arms and shouting "QUOTE ME OMG QUOTE MEEEE WHY WON'T YOU QUOTE ME I'M FUNNY AREN'T I?";
- There will be a decided lack of porn;
- If there is porn, it's all wannabe-literary;
- There's almost a year between the "start" date in the headers and when it's actually posted.
Anyone else wanna add something? :D [/ETA]
[ETA2] Oh, god. Today's Icon Of The Day:
So fucking true.
And why are my co-workers talking about "the real cheese"? I think perhaps I need to brush up on my French. o_O [/ETA2]

Our tickets said 'coach G'. G!!! So about a half a dozen people got told to go to the unreserved coach, coach C. Where we couldn't get a table to ourselves (as mad old lady slipped in while we were being confused).
At least there's power for the laptop (which I'm not using at the moment - the battery could do with a bit of a work-out anyway).
Online using GPRS and my shiny phone! Yay technology. I also don't think I'm even paying for it. Double-yay!

Boo on the phone. BOO!
Still, I rebooted it and now it works just fine.
(Yes, I have a phone that crashes and requires rebooting. It also has an Opera web browser, an SSH client, and an IM client (if I could be bothered to pay for it to make it work again). Why yes, I am a big fucking geek, why do you ask?)

The best bit is that while I'm online I can still get phone calls on the phone, I think. Yay technology!

If the fact that I met most of my friends online makes me immature, then dammit, slap my ass and call me teenie, because I'm not ashamed! (Hell, the other day, I was talking to a co-worker, who didn't understand how I can spend entire evenings online, and as an explanation, I offered: "But my friends live in the computer!" She cracked up. <g>)
Anyway, people who think you can qualify/quantify a relationship by the medium through which it's persued are on crack. Hell, I could just as easily say that people who can't have actual relationships with people unless they meet face-to-face have a deficiency somewhere, because isn't friendship supposed to be about getting along?

And my two closest friends in the world, other than Al? One is from Uni, and the other I met almost 3 years ago in the Matrix fandom. She has realised she isn't straight in that time, despite living in a very Bible Belt area, and fallen in love with another girl; I've handled a ton of crap to do with my own relationship. We've both graduated from Uni and built adult lives. And we've talked almost every day in that time, and I know I've told her stuff nobody else knows (except Al) and vice versa. We've administered smacks upside the head when required- Al got very drunk and made A Mistake once, and after she'd finished reaming him she told me not to be a dumbass and that if I had a best friend who really loved me and me him second chances were in order. And I've told her she was on a hiding to nothing but hell when she started to get involved with a complete cunt. She's just as real and important to me as any of the friends I met face to face, and if she died, it would be devastating. And when people try to tell me that relationships like that are meaningless because they "aren't real" it flummoxes me.
I'm real. I'm pretty sure she is. So I think when people try to say that, it says a fuckload more about them than it does me or my online friends.

And the only friends I've stayed friends with for longer than a few years, across countless fandoms, four moves including one out of my parents's house and one to another country, dropping out of uni, two jobs, taking up smoking, realising I'ma lesbian, three girlfriends, and awhole mess of porn, are fannish online friends.
"Not real" indeed. Feh.

That's the thing, about online. The numbers are so vast, that you can truly meet like minds. IRL, you just have a struggle meeting that volume, that fast.
