it'd be like, what's the name. i think it's gruff mcgruff, but i could be totally off my rocker--a dog in a trenchcoat who told kids that they could keep bad things from happening to them by paying attention to their surroundings and letting an adult know if something was up?

anyway. yes. that would kick me out of the story, because all i could see is the dog in the trenchcoat.
