Dear co-worker: I know you mean well, and I know you think you're funny, but I meant it when I told you I don't take well to unexpected physical contact. You would't be the first one to narrowly avoid an elbow to the face, especially with how stressed I've been, lately.

Dear self: When checking out a co-worker's legs, it may be a good idea to be a little less obvious, if only to avoid collision with a door. *cough*

Also, some personal blathering: [livejournal.com profile] dine asked, in a comment to yesterday's entry:

Since you need a break, is there any way you can do something more local, and hopefully less costly? iIt might not be a slash con, but there's bound to be something you can do to provide a mental break.

I actually have been thinking about this, because I'm trying to plan out my vacation days for this year. (Don't want to end realising in mid-November that I've three weeks of vacation days left. Um, again.) It's a little frustrating and annoying because we still don't have the list of official holidays for the various countries, which determines which days I have to take off, but if last year was anything to go by, the only days all three of my lines (Belgium, Netherlands and UK) overlap is Easter Monday and Christmas, and I'd probably take those off anyway. So, planning.

First of all, I've got to allow for people to come over to visit me--my mum in March, and hopefully over a weekend, but if my brother's Rome trip doesn't span one, it'll be weekdays-only, and I'll probably take a few days off, then. I'm a bit in two minds about this, actually, because I love my mum and I like spending time withher, but with Recent Developments and all, I'm a bit apprehensive about it. (Also, it mean I have to go yell at Argos to deliver my bookcases already. Yes, I'm a slacker, and still haven't re-arranged that. Hush.)

Gran is coming in September some time, and I'm guessing dad'll probably come some time early summer, both of them probably over a weekend. I'm going over to Belgium the second weekend of August as well, for the Death March and the party for my uncle's birthday that his friends are organising again--there'll be a bonfire and food and music general fun, which should recharge me even if the family stuff ends up having the same effect on me as it did over Christmas.

As far as me-stuff goes, the RPing stuff is definitely part of that, getting me out of the house in in the company of people on a regular basis, and having local (slash)fan friends definitely helps as well, but I also want to get away for a while, do a wee city trip thing down to London, for example, to go visit people, go to Camden for the first time in ages, and get Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. ([livejournal.com profile] elance is bringing some up for me when she and [livejournal.com profile] wibbble go to London next week, but it's not quite the same as scarfing one down fresh off the icing belt.) (Also: hush, Ruth. :P ) I can probably get a relatively cheapish train down, or maybe even a flight, and I know enough people in London that I can probably crash on someon's couch while I'm there, so that shouldn't take too much money.

The other thing I want to do is maybe go hiking for a few days, although the problems there are that a) I have no hiking gear, and while I can probably get my dad to bring over the old backpack of his I've always used in the past, and borrow a tent off someone, the big problem is going to be proper footwear; b) I'm hideously out of shape; and c) midgets midgies. But I think a few days in the wild will do me good, even if all I end up doing is meandering far enough from the nearest town to find a quiet spot to lounge and do nothing for a few days. And actually, that sounds even better than actually going hiking. Screw this physical excertion business, I'm finding me a nice spot in a field somewhere to do nothing but lie in the grass and read! :D

On a more day-to-day basis, I want to take up swimming again, and maybe go running once in a while, and start going to the cittyknitty meetups, and possibly find a second gaming group to join. But trying not to take on too much, because I also may need/want to get a one-evening-a-week second job to save up some extra cash for next year's Escapade, so I can avoid missing it again.

First of all, though, I'm going to work on cleaning out my flat, which should help a large part of this feeling of being stuck/depressed go away, and once that's done I can reward myself with a random day off/long weekend to do some recovering. Soon. Yes.

CUZ YOU'RE ALWAYS MEAN!

(HAAATE! Although, it's writing bits of itself in my head, and there is high-larious River&Jayne interaction. Now if I could seperate those bits from the bits that are Dr Who/FF ...)

((I did! I'm just having issues making my work computer download and actually open it. Can you maybe re-send as text?))

FINE. Have the damn candy, just don't come crying to me when your teeth rot out of your head, young lady.

(*DANCE OF GLEE* Yes! Seperate it! Write it!)

((Done!))

You can see vague bits of it in the comments to my latest post. Wash worrying about Zoe! River sharing her toys! Bweeeee!

((Got it!))

Whee! *dances* And you sort of lost my sympathy whejn you made my artmuse your bitch. (So cute. augh.)

You have a point. Unfortunately. (I am far too gleefully picturing Mal's face when Jayne hugs him. Bwahahaha. And I think I may have to turn the tables on Jayne with Zoe, because he's never going to dare hug her of his own accord. He may make undignified "Eep!" noises as it is, heeee!)

*beams* (Ha! And then Zoe would go back to her quarters and laugh herself sick.)

Heee! Well, Jayne hugged Wash, so Zoe gets to hug Jayne. It's only fair!
