Oooh, shiny new toy! Pretteh! *plays with it*
Had to take a break from knitting for a few days because my wrists were bugging me, but I'm back in full force now.
I've decided not to go with the Broad Street Mittens after all, but with these. Except in black, obviously. I'm also thinking of making the pretty blue/teal yarn that can vaguely be seen here into a triangular shawl for my brother's girlfriend. Hey, 17-yos on my friendslist, would this be something a teenaged girl would like? She's kinda goth/punk, not uber-trendy, and I figure a nice shawl is always handy to wear over a dress or a sleeveless top on a chilly night, right?
I also kinda want to try cabling. Hey, ruby_fruit, for your hat, how about something like this, except obviously with stripes instead of solid colour.
[ETA] Almost forgot, one of the pullovers I got for frogging is getting a black dye bath and is turning into a pair of these. Yay slippers![/ETA]

Yay, cabling! ... Crap, now I have to go and buy a cabling needle, don't I? The people at my Local Yarn Store are getting to know me by name. *facepalm*

And you don't need a specific cable needle -- you can swap in a double-pointed needle or even use a safety pin or a paper clip. There's also a "cabling without a cabled needle" technique, but I have yet to learn that one.

I think a DPN will be a bit too long to be easy to use, but a paperclip, yes, or something similar. Though I probably will actually get a cable needle. I've developed something of a tool fetish for knitting stuff. *hangs head in shame*
