So my gran's coming over tomorrow, which means I'll likely not be online as much until Tuesday. But yay for family visits! Chocolate! Tobacco! Proper dark bread flour! Yarn shopping! :D

And then there's one more weekend of relaxation, which will probably turn into a weekend of cooking and freezing meals for November, so I don't starve myself in favour of NaNo. Er, again. *innocentface* And then it's the last week before NaNo, and then just as NaNo starts, my books and stuff for the OU course should be arriving. Except lots of dorky squeeing roundabout then. :D

So, To Do:

• Finish cleaning. (Deadline: 12/10/2005)
• Buy yarn for at least most of the HP scarves I've promised people. The Ravencvlaw bronze will probably prove elusive, but I can but try! And hopefully I'll be able to trick my gran into buying me some of the yarn, muahahah. (Deadline: 15/10/2005)
• Place NaNo store order as soon as the mugs become available.(Deadline: 16/10/2005)
• Rewrite Hooker AU (finally).(Deadline: 25/10/2005)
• Stock up for NaNo (see below). (Deadline: 31/10/2005)
• Beta for Ruth. (Deadline: 31/10/2005)
• Update site (... finally).(Deadline: 31/10/2005)
• Update femgeeks.net main page (... finally).(Deadline: 31/10/2005)
• Scope out coffeeshop for writing purposes. (Deadline: 31/10/2005)
• Do not fail OU course due to NaNo!

Please feel free to point out anything I've missed, BTW.

Things I need to stock up on and buy for NaNo:

• Tobacco, cig papers and filters, and other smoking stuff.
• Pre-prepared and frozen meals I can just nuke or pop in the oven.
• Snacks of the fruity and veggie kind.
• Snacks of the crispy and nutty kind.
• Snacks of the sweet kind.
• Coffee.
• Instant chocolate powder, so I can drink (hot or cold) chocolate milk when my stomach starts rebelling against all the caffeine.
• Travel flask to keep coffee warm at work.
• AA batteries for AlphaSmart (if needed) and battery pack for iPod.
• New wrist and elbow supports, since I lost my trusty old one (woe).

Any further suggestions?

Random rant/ramble of the day: What is with all the people getting bitchy about trends and shit in fandom? Apparently, there was a kerfuffle not that long ago with people bitching about people getting psyched about Serenity, and now there's people bitching about people doing that fanfic 100 thing, and ... I don't get it. Maybe it's because I have such a wide range of people on my friendslist, and I'm still not usuall into mainstream fandoms, but I'm used to people suddenly flocking to a (usually new, but sometimes old) fandom I'm not interested in. Firefly and Serenity, QaF, various Stargate incarnations, plus anything out of my small niche in larger fandoms like Buffy or comics fandom, and that's not even touching on the DVD-fuelled revivals of older fandoms like due South.

It's not that I can't understand feeling left out, but making big ranty foaming-at-the-mouth posts about it where the people you're bitching about can see it still seems really stupid to me. This is why god invented e-mail and IM, people, so you can vent to likeminded and/or simply understanding friends, and then go back to being amused over your friendslist's onebrain, which is pretty much what I do with all the Serenity-related posts. (You're all so cute when you get fangirly. :D)

Oh, and I still need to decide on a costume for Halloween. Help?

I have way too many ideas. I can't choose. I can't write them all.

Last year, horribly enough, I only managed about 3,000 words. I think my breakdown will come in if I still have writer's block in November.
